Forma della frase

"Molto" in inglese

Esempio

frase affermativa a lot of / lots of / plenty of + sostantivo (sia countable che uncountable)


plenty of
è usato nell’inglese informale per indicare "più del necessario".

I’ve got a lot of books.
I’ve got lots of books.
Ho molti libri.

The train is in two hours’ time. We have plenty of time.
Il treno è fra due ore, abbiamo tutto il tempo.

frase negativa o interrogativa Many + sostantivo countable






Much
+ sostantivo uncountable






Many
può anche essere utilizzato in frasi affermative, specialmente nell’inglese informale.

I haven’t got many English books.
Non ho molti libri inglesi.
Have you got many English books?
Hai molti libri inglesi?

I don’t have much spare time.
Non ho molto tempo libero.
Do you have much spare time?
Hai molto tempo libero?

 

Verbo + molto

Quando molto accompagna un verbo è grammaticalmente un avverbio.

Ho lavorato molto oggi.
Susan parla sempre
molto.

In queste frasi molto segue un verbo (lavorare, parlare). Si tratta di un avverbio.

In inglese si esprime in modo diverso a seconda che la frase sia affermativa, interrogativa o negativa.

Con i verbi to work e to study si usa frequentemente hard (duramente).

I’ve worked a lot today.

Ho lavorato molto oggi.

Non ho lavorato molto oggi.

She doesn’t talk very much.
Non parla molto.
