Il calcio, lo so, l’ho detto io, bisogna odiarlo, ma ogni tanto, una volta ogni quattro anni, si può fare uno strappo alla regola.
Football, I know, I’ve said it, we have to hate it, but every so often, once every four years, you can break the rules.

Tutti in poltrona, birra, panini e rutto libero.
Everyone in an armchair, beer, sandwiches and free-running belches.

La partita non viene trasmessa.
The match is not broadcast.

La RAI non ha comprato ogni partita del Mondiale come ha sempre fatto.
The RAI has not bought every World Cup match as it has always done.

Chi vuole seguirle tutte deve pagare.
Anyone who wants to watch all the matches has to pay.

I know, I’ve read it but I haven’t seen them.

La realtà sta diventando a pagamento.
Reality is becoming paid for.

È un lento esproprio della realtà, anche quella minima, dei piccoli piaceri.

Il mercato si introduce in ogni spazio quotidiano.
The market is getting into every day to day space.

Trasforma la realtà in merce.
It’s transforming reality into merchandise.

Per vivere bisogna pagare il biglietto.
In order to live, you have to pay a ticket.

Viviamo in una realtà capitalisticamente modificata che ha superato l’era della creazione dei bisogni e si è spinta oltre.
We are living in a capitalistically modified reality that has overcome the era of the creation of needs and it has pushed beyond that.

L’uomo stesso è ora la merce più pregiata.
Man himself is now the most precious merchandise.

Il capitale è investito sulla sua necessità di vivere, di esistere, dalla culla alla tomba.
Capital is invested in his need to live, to exist, from cradle to grave.

In circonvallazione ci sono enormi cartelli con la scritta. “Funerale tutto compreso a 1950 euro”.
On the ring road, there are enormous adverts saying: “Fully comprehensive funerals at 1950 euro”.

Un affare, conviene prenotarsi la morte, il costo della vita cresce ogni giorno.
A bargain! It’s worth booking your death, the cost of living is going up every day.

Il mondo si divide in mondo a pagamento o gratuito.
The world is divided into the pay-world or the free-world.

La tecnica è quella di rendere miserabile quello che ci spetta per diritto naturale come le spiagge o la scuola, e promuovere il mondo a pagamento.
The technique is to make what is a natural right like a free beach or a free school into something miserable, and to promote the pay-world.

L’erba a pagamento è sempre più verde.
The pay-grass is always greener.

I raccordi autostradali saranno a pagamento.
The motorway connection roads will be pay-roads.

Li abbiamo già pagati con le nostre tasse, ma ci convinceranno che erano gratuiti fino ad ora per gentile concessione, che è giusto introdurre il pedaggio.

It’s a matter of time. We will get to the point of a life of points.
