As baby boomers reach retirement age, more are staying in the workforce.
I figli del “baby boom” rinviano sempre di più il pensionamento.

Growing numbers of older Europeans are choosing to work longer, reversing the previous trend toward early retirement – a development that could ease Europe’s aging population problem.
Un numero crescente di europei decide di continuare a lavorare nella terza età, invertendo la precedente tendenza al prepensionamento e contribuendo ad alleviare il problema dell’invecchiamento demografico nell’UE.

A new report shows that employment rates for almost all ages have risen sharply since 2000. Una nuova relazione rivela che, dal 2000, i tassi di occupazione sono aumentati notevolmente in quasi tutte le fasce di età.

This is particularly true for baby boomers – born during the post WWII-population explosion. Ciò vale in particolare per i figli del “baby boom”, l’esplosione demografica del secondo dopoguerra.

Today that trend has been reversed.

The report shows that in 2007, 50% of men and 30% of women were still employed at the age of 60, a share that is 10% more than in 2000.
