1	Countdown to Single Market Week under way	È iniziato il conto alla rovescia per la Settimana del Mercato unico
2	2012 marks the twentieth year of the European Single Market, which was officially established on 1 January 1993.	Il 2012 segna il ventesimo anniversario del Mercato unico europeo, che è stato istituito ufficialmente il 1° gennaio 1993.
3	This anniversary provides an ideal opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the single market since its creation and on the challenges remaining to realise the potential of the Single Market to create new growth.	Tale anniversario offre l’occasione ideale per riflettere sui risultati conseguiti dal Mercato unico dalla sua istituzione e sulle sfide che restano per sfruttarne il potenziale al fine di creare nuova crescita.
4	The 20th anniversary provides the framework for a range of activities taking place in all Member States and centred on the Single Market Week for New Growth from 15 to 20 October 2012.	Il 20° anniversario offre la cornice per una serie di attività che si svolgeranno in tutti gli Stati membri e saranno incentrate sulla Settimana del Mercato unico per la nuova crescita dal 15 al 20 ottobre 2012.
5	These activities will focus on three objectives:	Tali attività si concentreranno su tre obiettivi:
6	- Recalling the achievements of 20 years of the Single Market;	- il ricordo dei risultati conseguiti nei 20 anni del Mercato unico;
7	- Presenting and discussing new initiatives to stimulate growth in the Single Market;	- la presentazione e la discussione di nuove iniziative dirette a promuovere la crescita nel Mercato Unico;
8	- Mobilizing the views and expectations of young adults about the Single Market.	- la mobilitazione delle opinioni e delle aspettative dei giovani in merito al Mercato unico.
9	A central interactive event will be organised in Brussels on 15 October in the European Parliament.	Il 15 ottobre verrà organizzato a Bruxelles un evento centrale interattivo presso il Parlamento europeo.
10	It will be a mix of stimulating debates, video presentations, discussion rounds, quizzes with the audience and the award ceremony for the "Generation 1992" competition (more details can be found below) with the aim of providing input for future policy.	Esso consisterà in un insieme di stimolanti dibattiti, presentazioni video, tavole rotonde, giochi a quiz con il pubblico e nella cerimonia della consegna dei premi per il concorso “Generazione 1992” (maggiori dettagli figurano più avanti), con il fine di fornire un contributo alle future politiche.
11	A key focal point of the event will be on the generation of 20 year-olds, who were born in the year when the Single Market came into being and who do not remember Europe as it was before the Single Market.	Un aspetto cruciale dell’evento riguarderà la generazione dei ventenni che sono nati nell’anno in cui è stato istituito il Mercato unico e che non possono ricordare l’Europa com’era prima di questo avvenimento.

13	Many national events will be organised in the EU Member States in the days and weeks following 15 October.	Negli Stati membri dell’UE, nei giorni e nelle settimane successivi al 15 ottobre, verranno organizzati molti eventi nazionali.
14	Their aim is to bring together citizens, businesses and public organisations to examine and discuss the state of the single market in a national context.	Il loro obiettivo è di riunire cittadini, imprese e organizzazioni pubbliche per esaminare e discutere lo stato del Mercato unico in un contesto nazionale.
15	In advance of Single Market Week, early in October, the Commission will adopt a package of measures to strengthen and deepen the single market, called "Single Market Act 2", following an initial package of single market measures adopted last year (see IP/11/469).	Ai primi di ottobre, prima che inizi la Settimana del Mercato unico, la Commissione adotterà un pacchetto di misure dirette al suo rafforzamento e approfondimento, denominato “Mercato unico Atto 2”, che fa seguito ad un pacchetto iniziale di misure sul Mercato unico adottate l’anno scorso (cfr. IP/11/469).
16	To prepare for Single Market Week, the Commission has today published a brochure entitled "20 years of the European Single Market – together for New Growth", to spread information about the opportunities and benefits of the Single Market for European citizens and businesses.	Per preparare la Settimana del Mercato unico, la Commissione ha pubblicato oggi un opuscolo intitolato “20 anni di Mercato unico europeo – assieme per una nuova crescita”, al fine di diffondere le informazioni in merito alle opportunità e ai vantaggi del Mercato unico per i cittadini e le imprese europei.

20	Generation 1992 competition	Concorso “Generazione 1992”
21	In April 2012 a creativity competition campaign was launched aimed at tapping into the views, experiences, insights and expectations of what the single market means to young Europeans today giving young adults born in 1992 the opportunity to express their views on the Single Market (IP/12/358 ).	Nell’aprile del 2012 è stata lanciata una campagna per un concorso di creatività diretto ad attingere alle opinioni, esperienze, analisi ed aspettative di cosa significa oggi il Mercato unico per i giovani europei offrendo ai giovani nati nel 1992 la possibilità di esprimere il loro punto di visto su di esso (IP/12/358).
22	The campaign will mobilise young adults to create a new way of looking at the Single Market and stimulate debates.	La campagna mobiliterà i giovani allo scopo di creare un nuovo modo di guardare al Mercato unico e stimolare i dibattiti.
23	The 20 winners will be invited to take part in the Single Market Week in October, where they will present their winning entries at the award ceremony on 15 October.	I 20 vincitori saranno invitati a partecipare alla Settimana del Mercato unico in ottobre, dove potranno presentare i loro interventi vincenti alla cerimonia del 15 ottobre.
