I giornali incassano un miliardo di euro all’anno dallo Stato.
Newspapers get a billion euro a year from the State.

Si tagliano i fondi alle Università e li si regalano ai Mieli, ai Mauro, ai Ferrara, ai Polito, ai Feltri.
There are cuts to the funding for universities and they are gifting money to people like Mieli, Mauro, Ferrara, Polito, and FeltBuone nuoveri.

La lista è lunghissima, ma quanti sono i mantenuti foraggiati dalle nostre tasse.
The list is really long, but how many are there who are fed and watered from our taxes?

La libertà di esprimere l’opinione dei loro editori è possibile grazie ai contributi dell’operaio o della pensionata.
The liberty to express the opinion of their editors is possible thanks to the taxes of the labourers and the pensioners.

Il costo della carta, delle redazioni, la diminuzione degli incassi pubblicitari e la possibilità di navigare on line sposta ogni giorno un granello di informazione dai giornali alla Rete.
The cost of paper, of the staff, the fall in income from advertising and the possibility to surf online is moving a grain of information day by day from the newspapers to the Internet.

E’ una clessidra che non si può fermare.

Il primo quotidiano nazionale americano a chiudere i battenti e a trasferirsi sulla Rete è, notizia di questi giorni, il “Christian Science Monitor” di Boston.

Ha più di cento anni di storia e sette premi Pulitzer in organico.
