Basta morti sul lavoro!
No more deaths at work!

E’ stato un 2012 drammatico per il numero di morti sul lavoro in Italia.
The year 2012 has been a dramatic one for the number of work-related deaths in Italy.

Circa 1200 in totale di cui 622 sui luoghi di lavoro, nonostante la crisi devastante che ha colpito il Paese.
There were about 1200 in all and of these 622 were on work premises, even in spite of the devastating crisis that has lashed the country.

Agricoltori (33%), muratori (29%), operai (11%), ma anche autotrasportatori (6,1%) e impiegati (5,8%).
Agricultural workers (33%), construction workers (29%), labourers (11%), but also transport industry workers (6.1%) and office workers (5.8%).

Giovani e vecchi (il 25% aveva più di 60 anni al momento della morte).
Young people and old people (25% were 60 years old or more when they died).

Ogni categoria e ogni generazione di lavoratori paga il suo tributo di sangue.
Each category and each generation of workers pay their offering of blood.

>>> Nessuno fa nulla, le priorità sono sempre altre.
Nobody does anything. There are always other priorities.

Il MoVimento 5 Stelle porterà in Parlamento il tema della sicurezza sul luogo di lavoro come prioritario.
The “MoVimento 5 Stelle” will raise the issue of safety at work as a top priority in Parliament.

Nessuno deve trarre profitto dalla morte di un lavoratore.
No one must make a profit from the death of a worker.

“Il 2012 si è concluso e anche quest’anno ci sono stati tantissimi morti sul lavoro e non mi stancherò mai di dirlo, ancora chiamati impropriamente ed in modo ipocrita “morti bianche”.
“The year 2012 has ended and even this year there have been so many deaths at work and I will not get tired of saying this that they are improperly and hypocritically referred to as “morti bianche“ {white deaths}.

1180 lavoratori non hanno fatto più ritorno a casa nel 2012, perchè uccisi dall’insicurezza sul lavoro.
1180 workers never went back home in 2012, because they were killed by the lack of safety at work.

Un tema, quello delle stragi sul lavoro, troppo spesso dimenticato, ignorato e di cui non si è detto una sola parola in campagna elettorale.
The topic of the slaughter of people at work, is too often forgotten and ignored and has never been even mentioned in an election campaign.

Non c’è stato un governo che ha fatto qualcosa di concreto per fermare queste stragi.
There has never been a government that has done something concrete to put an end to this slaughter.

L’unica cosa che sono stati in grado di fare è quella di stravolgere il Testo Unico per la sicurezza sul lavoro (Dlgs 81/08), voluto dal Governo Prodi, che è stato modificato in senso fortemente negativo dal Governo Berlusconi, con il Decreto Legislativo 106/09, che ha dimezzato le sanzioni ai datori di lavoro, ai dirigenti, ai preposti, in alcuni casi ha sostituito l’arresto con l’ammenda.
The only thing that they have been able to do is to distort the Consolidated Law on safety at work (Dlgs 81/08), that the Prodi government wanted, that was modified in a very negative way by the Berlusconi government, with the legislative decree 106/09, that halved the penalties for employers, directors, health and safety operatives and in certain cases it has substituted arrest with a fine.

Ha introdotto la salvamanager, che deresponsabilizza i datori di lavoro in caso di delega e subdelega.
It brought in the “salvamanager” {save the manager regulation}, that removes responsibility from the employer if there is delegation or sub-delegation.

Ha prorogato di 90 giorni l’obbligo della redazione della valutazione dei rischi (DVR) per le nuove imprese, ecc.
It extended by 90 days the period for preparing a risk assessment for new companies and so on.

E questa è solo una parte del problema, perchè andrebbe ricordato che in questi anni non è stato fatto nulla per aumentare i controlli per la sicurezza sul lavoro nelle aziende.
And this is just a part of the problem, because one has to remember that nothing has been done in recent years to increase the safety precautions at work in the companies.

Come fanno 1850 tecnici della prevenzione delle Asl a controllare 4-5 milioni di aziende sparse in tutta Italia?
How can 1850 health and safety officials employed by the health authorities check up on 4-5 million companies in the whole of Italy?

C’è un problema evidente di scarsità di controlli per la sicurezza sul lavoro, ma non c’è stato un Governo che abbia fatto qualcosa per aumentarli.
There’s an obvious problem of insufficient checking on health and safety at work but there has never been a government that has taken action to increase this.

E’ dal 2006 che vado dicendo che la sicurezza sul lavoro andrebbe insegnata fin dalle scuole elementari, come si fa in Francia:
Since the year 2006, I have been saying that health and safety at work should be taught even in primary schools, as they do in France.

è così difficile fare un decreto legge, per farla insegnare nelle scuole?
Is it so difficult to have a legal decree to have this taught in schools?

Quando si è voluto, sono stati fatti decreti legge per qualsiasi cosa, poi quando si chiedono per cose importanti nessuno ti sta ad ascoltare.
When they wanted to, they got legal decrees for anything and then when there’s a request for a decree for important things, no one wants to listen to you.

Non dimentichiamolo mai: gli studenti di oggi, saranno i lavoratori e gli imprenditori di domani.
Let’s never forget this: today’s students are tomorrow’s workers and entrepreneurs.

Inoltre, manca la certezza della pena per i responsabili delle morti sul lavoro.
Furthermore there’s no certainty that a penalty will be imposed on those responsible for work-related deaths.

Normalmente i processi per le morti sul lavoro si risolvono o con pene talmente basse, che i datori di lavoro non lo vedono neanche con il binocolo il carcere o peggio ancora con la beffa della prescrizione.
Normally the trials for deaths at work usually end up with sentences that are so light that employers can’t see the prison even if they use binoculars, or worse still, where there are no penalties at all because of the time limit imposed by the joke that is the Statute of Limitations.

Quando tutto ciò accade, per i familiari è come se il loro caro fosse morto una seconda volta.
When all this happens, for the families of the dead person, it’s as though they’ve died a second time.

Un paese civile come si definisce lo Stato Italiano non si può permettere tutti questi omicidi sul lavoro (un termine forte lo so, ma sicuramente più realistico della presa in giro “morti bianche”).
A civilised country, as the Italian State reckons it is, cannot allow itself to have all these murders at work (I know that that is a strong term, but it is surely more realistic than the term “morti bianche“ {white deaths}) that is just a way of taking us for a ride.

E’ così difficile da capire?
Is that so difficult to understand?

Ed intanto, mentre i lavoratori continuano a morire sui luoghi di lavoro, nessuno fa nulla per fermare questo triste bollettino di guerra.”
