They’ve covered me up with one of those checkered rugs.

Fuori ci sono i riflettori puntati sulla mia finestra, sul bagno.
Outside there are the floodlights beaming in through the bathroom window.

Io non lo so cosa vogliono vedere.
I don’t know what they want to see.

E’ fantastica quest’avventura qua.
This adventure that we’re having is fantastic.

Io innanzitutto voglio solo ringraziare quei ragazzi straordinari che ci facevano trovare i palchi, le luci, il servizio di protezione, ci hanno ospitato a casa, ci hanno aiutato col camper.
First of all I just want to thank those extraordinary young people that made it possible to find the stages, the lights, the security services, the people that put us up in their homes, that have helped us with the camper.

“The others” sono pagati, portati lì con i pullman, con le bandiere.
“The others” are paid and are carried around in buses with flags.

Noi tutto volontariato.
We are all volunteers.

Per questo bisogna ringraziare.
This is why so many thanks are needed.

Non avrò mai ringraziamenti sufficienti per questi ragazzi: sono stati formidabili.
I’ll never be able to show my appreciation enough for these young people: they have been incredible.

Poi il risultato abbiamo fatto le prove generali.
Then we have had a full dress rehearsal for the result.

Dicono che sono finiti, lo sanno.
People say that they are finished and they know that.

Non abbiamo tenuto conto che questa è una guerra generazionale.
We haven’t been aware that this is a generational war.

Bisognerà mettere il voto a 16 anni, entrare in Senato a 18, come nei Paesi normali.
What’s needed is to be able to vote at 16 years old and to be a Senate representative at age 18, as in normal countries.

Ci sono una ventina di milioni di italiani che hanno galleggiato sulla crisi, che non hanno voluto osare perchè forse forse, sotto sotto, gli sta bene così.
There are about twenty million Italians that have stayed afloat during the crisis, that haven’t wanted to take the plunge, because it’s just possible that basically things are OK as they are.

Non so come si può fare: riconsegnare il Paese ancora a Berlusconi, questo Mastrolindo che ha contribuito ad affossare il Paese, per 6 mesi, un anno.
I don’t know what we can do: hand back the country to Berlusconi, this “Mastrolindo” {cleaning geni} that has contributed to getting this country into a rut, for 6 months, a year.

E’ veramente un crimine contro la galassia, contro l’intera galassia.
It’s truly a crime against the galaxy, against the whole galaxy.

Noi intanto ci perfezionamo, entriamo dentro e non pensino di fare inciucetti, inciucini.
Meanwhile we are perfecting our skills. We’ll go into parliament and we won’t even think of messy deals or even teeny weeny messy deals.

Saremo una forza straordinaria e faremo tutto quello che abbiamo detto in campagna elettorale.
We’ll be an extraordinary force and we’ll do everything that we have said we’ll do in the election campaign.

Reddito di cittadinanza, cominciamo a stare appresso agli ultimi: nessuno deve rimanere indietro.
Citizen’s income, let’s start by being alongside the most vulnerable: nobody must get left behind.

Cominciamo a usare parole diverse.
Let’s start to use different words.

Saremo 150 dentro e qualche milione fuori.
There’ll be 150 of us inside and a few million outside.

E’ stata eccezionale questa cosa.
This has been exceptional.

Prima forza in assoluta in tre anni e qualche mese, senza soldi, senza aver mai accettato un rimborso.
The first entity in absolute terms after just three and a bit years, without money, without ever having accepted the reimbursement of expenses.

Adesso ci toccherebbero 100 milioni.
Now we’d be eligible to have 100 million.

Non prenderemo soldi, continueremo così.
We’re not taking the money. We’re going on like that.

Aspettateci in Parlamento, sarà un grandissimo piacere potervi osservare.
Wait for us in Parliament. It’ll be a great pleasure to be able to observe what you do.

Mi sono chiesto dove ci collocheranno nell’ambito del Parlamento, spero dietro ognuno di voi.
I’ve been wondering where they will position us physically on the parliamentary benches, I hope behind all of you.

Faranno un governissimo pdmenoelle – pdelle.
They will create a PDminusL – PDL super-government.

Noi siamo l’ostacolo.
We are the obstacle.

Contro di noi non ce la possono più fare, che si mettano il cuore in pace.
They can no longer succeed against us. Let them resign themselves to that.

Potranno andare avanti ancora 7, 8 mesi a fare un disastro, ma cercheremo di tenerlo sotto controllo.
They’ll be able to keep going for 7 or 8 months and they’ll produce a disaster but we’ll try and keep them under control.

Cominceremo a fare quello che abbiamo sempre detto, le nostre stelle:
We’ll start to do what we’ve always said – our stars:

l’acqua pubblica, la scuola pubblica, la sanità pubblica.
water in public hands, schools in public hands, public health service.

Se ci seguono ci seguono.
If they follow us they follow us.

Se no la battaglia sarà molto dura per loro, molto dura.
If they don’t, the battle will be very harsh for them, very harsh.

Non riescono a capire, non riescono a concepire.
They cannot understand .They cannot conceive of things.

Bisogna che li analizzi psichiatricamente.
They need psychiatric analysis.

Sono falliti.
They are failed people.

Sono lì da 25, 30 anni, hanno portato il Paese alla catastrofe.
They’ve been there for 25, or 30 years, and they have brought the country to the point of catastrophe.

La cosa che mi da malessere sono questi milioni di persone che galleggiano nella crisi, che sono stati solo sfiorati dalla crisi, che sono riusciti a vivacchiare a discapito degli altri milioni che non ce la fanno più.
What makes me feel really ill are the millions of people that have been staying afloat in the crisis, that have just been marginally affected by the crisis, that have managed to just get by to the detriment of the other lot of millions of people that cannot go on any more.

Il problema dell’Italia sono queste persone.
Italy’s problem is this set of people.

E finchè non gli toccheranno gli stipendi o le pensioni, per loro va benissimo immobilizzare il Paese, ma durerà poco, molto poco questa situazione.”
And as long as the salaries and the pensions of these people are not at risk it’s fine to immobilise the country. But this won’t last long. This situation won’t last long at all.”
