156 mamme lasciate sole
156 mothers left to cope
Succede che in Italia 156 studenti diversamente abili delle scuole medie superiori non possano frequentare le lezioni dall’inizio dell’anno scolastico perché l’ente Provincia non espleta il servizio del trasporto e dell’assistenza specialistica per mancanza di fondi.
“What’s happening in Italy is that 156 disabled high school students have not been able to get to school since the beginning of this academic year because the province doesn’t have the funds to provide the transport facilities needed.
Questo scempio disumano avviene nella Provincia di Ragusa e le mamme protestano ad oltranza da circa una settimana incatenate e, due di loro, attuando lo sciopero della fame perché il Presidente Crocetta ha pensato male di staccare la spina.
This disastrous situation is happening in the Province of Ragusa and the mothers have been having an all-out protest for about a week. They have chained themselves together and two of them are on hunger strike.They feel that President Crocetta has acted incorrectly by failing to provide the transport facilities.
Il servizio, che ha un costo mensile di 265 mila euro, potrà essere assicurato solo per appena due settimane dopo che il commissario straordinario della Provincia, Giovanni Scarso, ha predisposto il bilancio di previsione apponendo 120 mila euro.
These facilities cost 265 thousand euro a month but there are funds for just 2 weeks. This is the case since the special commissioner for the Province, Giovanni Scarso, has fixed the predicted budget at 120 thousand euro.
Non basta.
And that’s not enough.
Serve una soluzione definitiva.
What’s needed is a long term solution.
>>> Queste famiglie vivono in una terra dove alcuni senatori ragusani, contemporaneamente alla loro protesta, presentano emendamenti al D.l. 101/2013 sulla Pubblica Amministrazione al Senato della Repubblica riguardanti la proroga dei contratti ai Dirigenti delle oramai decadute, o presunte tali, Province.
These families are living in a place where a few senators from Ragusa are presenting amendments in the Senate, amendments to the decree 101/2013 concerning the public administration, in relation to the continuation of contracts for the directors of the Provinces that seem to have been dissolved. And this is happening while the families are carrying out their protest.
Paradossalmente per l’emendamento sopracitato, presentato ed approvato al Senato, la Provincia di Ragusa sarà costretta ad avere un Dirigente inutile e retribuito con soldi pubblici ma non i fondi per espletare il servizio ai diversamente abili.
Paradoxically, in accordance with this amendment approved by the Senate, the Province of Ragusa will be obliged to have a useless director paid from public funds, even though they don’t have the money to provide the service for disabled students.
Speriamo almeno che il nostro caro Governatore Crocetta stia vicino a queste mamme.
At least, let us hope that our dear Governor Crocetta, will keep on giving his support to these mothers.

I consiglieri comunali di Ragusa del Movimento 5 Stelle hanno, come segno forte di protesta, lasciato l’aula consiliare qualche secondo dopo l’inizio della seduta per poter affermare che prima di ogni cosa viene la salvaguarda dei diritti.
As a way of indicating that above all what counts is the protection of rights, the 5 Star MoVement local councillors of the town of Ragusa have, demonstrated their protest by walking out of the council chamber a few seconds after the beginning of the session.
Chiedono ai deputati regionali l’immediata convocazione della commissione parlamentare Bilancio e Programmazione per trovare le risorse necessarie a mantenere attivo l’indispensabile servizio.
They are asking the deputies of the region to call for an immediate meeting of the Budget and Planning Parliamentary Committee so that they can find the resources needed to keep this essential service in operation.
Le mamme pretendono che sia garantito il diritto allo studio così come previsto nella Costituzione.
The mothers are insisting that the right to study should be guaranteed, as laid down in the Constitution.
Pretendono una politica di servizio e di sacrifici.
