La talpa “Monnalisa” è la maxitrivella che deve scavare il tunnel di sette chilometri dell’ alta velocità ferroviaria sotto l’ abitato di Firenze, da Campo di Marte a Castello
The excavator called “Monnalisa” is the massive drill to be used to excavate the seven kilometre tunnel for the high speed train under the built up bit of Florence from Campo di Marte to Castello

“A Firenze è previsto che l’alta velocità passi attraverso un doppio tunnel di circa 7,5 km che sventrerà il sottosuolo fiorentino compromettendolo per sempre.
“In Florence the plan is to have the high speed train go though a double tunnel about 7.5 kilometres long and this will disembowel the subsoil of Florence putting it in jeopardy from then on.

Si tratta di un’opera folle da tutti i punti di vista.
It’s a mad project from every point of view.

Partiamo dai costi.
Let’s start by looking at the costs.

I comitati contrari al sottoattraversamento hanno sempre avanzato, grazie al contributo di Professori universitari e tecnici, una proposta alternativa che permetterebbe ai treni dell’Alta Velocità di avere una linea di attraversamento in superficie con minori costi (circa 300 milioni di euro contro un miliardo e 500 milioni, possibili tre miliardi, preventivati per il sottoattraversamento) ed in tempi inferiori (viene stimato un quinto del tempo necessario per il sottoattraversamento).
The campaign groups that are against the underground rail line have always been working with university professors and technical experts to put forward an alternative idea that would make it possible for the high speed trains to travel on the surface at lower cost (about 300 million euro as opposed to a billion and a half or even a possible three billion already outlined in the budget for the underground route) and in a shorter time frame (estimates suggest it would take a fifth of the time needed for the underground route).

Quali sono i rischi per Firenze?
What are the risks for Florence?

Sono tantissimi e riguardano le case dei fiorentini vicine al tracciato, circa 280 palazzi vanno almeno periziati secondo le stime RFI (secondo l’Osservatorio Ambientale il monitoraggio deve riguardare circa 2000 edifici) e la salute dei cittadini per l’innalzamento dell’inquinamento atmosferico legato alla cantierizzazione e per il rischioso smaltimento delle terre di scavo.
There are so many risks and they relate to the homes of the people of Florence that are close to the route, about 280 buildings have to at least be surveyed according to estimates by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) (according to the Environmental Observatory monitoring will have to be carried out on about 2000 buildings) and then there’s the health and well-being of the citizens due to the increase in atmospheric pollution connected to the construction work and the risk associated with disposing of the earth that is excavated.

La procura di Firenze è già intervenuta.
The Office of the Florence Prosecutors has already intervened.

I cittadini contrari al sottoattraversamento hanno denunciato da sempre (dal 2006) il rischio dell’impatto di quest’opera sulla falda sotterranea:
Citizens against the idea of having the rail line going underground to get across Florence have always been speaking out (well since 2006) and drawing attention to the environmental risk of this project on the underground water table.

Il rischio è che il flusso della falda venga interrotto e che ci sia un innalzamento del livello dell’acqua da una parte ed un abbassamento dall’altra.
The risk is that the flow of water in the water table will be interrupted and that the level of water will rise in one place and fall in another.

Oggi questi rischi sono confermati da una nota ufficiale dell’ARPAT.
Today these risks are confirmed in an official document from ARPAT.

Sono stati realizzati soltanto i lavori preparatori e c’è già un dislivello accertato della falda.
So far, only preparatory work has been carried out and there’s already been verification of a change of levels in the water table.

Renzi era (ed è) troppo impegnato ad inseguire la poltrona della segreteria del PD per rispondere ai cittadini.
Renzi was (and still is) too busy chasing after the position of PD party secretary to give a reply to the citizens.

Da politico vecchissimo stampo diceva, nel febbraio 2011: “Penso che i comitati non debbano fare terrorismo psicologico”.
Just like a really-old-style politician, he said this in February 2011: “I think that campaign groups should refrain from psychological terrorism”.

Renzi, oltre che interessarsi una volta tanto della sua città, dovrebbe almeno chiedere scusa ai comitati contrari al sottoattraversamento.
Renzi, should not only take an interest in his own city every so often, and he should at least ask for forgiveness from the campaign groups opposed to the underground rail project.

Altro che terroristi psicologici, le ombre su un progetto così folle si moltiplicano ogni giorno!
There’s anything but psychological terrorism! The shadows being cast on such a foolish project are multiplying every day!

Il M5S, sia a livello locale, sia a livello nazionale continuerà a battersi perché la voce informata e competente dei comitati trovi risposta nelle istituzioni.
The M5S will continue to fight at a local level, as well as nationally so that the well-informed and capable voice of the campaign groups can find a response from the institutions.

Ieri abbiamo raggiunto Renzi in Palazzo Vecchio e gli abbiamo chiesto un incontro pubblico con i cittadini.
Yesterday we went to see Renzi in Palazzo Vecchio and we asked him to have a public meeting with the citizens.

Faremo intervenire i professori ed i tecnici che, documenti alla mano, gli dimostreranno ancora una volta la follia dell’opera.
We will get academics and technical experts to come along with the documentation to show him how mad this project is.
