“La storia dell’Ucraina pone una questione di principio importante.
“The story of Ukraine raises an important question of principle.

Fino a ora per le democrazie occidentali era pacifico che era legittima la rivolta armata contro i dittatori, come è stato in Tunisia con Ben Ali, in Egitto con Mubarak e in Libia con Gheddafi, anche se lì, per la verità, più che la popolazione a cacciare il Rais furono i missili francesi.
Up until now, Western democracies accepted that armed revolt was legitimate to use against dictators, as happened in Tunisia with Ben Ali, in Egypt with Mubarak and in Libya with Gaddafi, even though, there, rather than it being the population getting rid of the Rais, it was the French missiles.

In Ucraina la situazione è questa:
In Ukraine the situation is as follows:

Yanucovych era stato eletto in elezioni con il 51,8 per cento dei voti.
Yanukovych was elected and got 51.8 per cent of the votes.

Ora, l’Occidente ha appoggiato questa rivolta, una rivolta molto violenta, armata.
Now, the West has given its support to this revolt, a violent, armed revolt.

Sono stati sequestrati una sessantina di poliziotti e quindi pone il principio che anche un regime democraticamente eletto possa essere rovesciato legittimamente con la violenza.
About sixty police officers have been seized and this raises the question of a regime that was democratically elected. Can it be overturned using violence?

>>> Quindi potrebbe essere uno di quei casi in cui l’Occidente si dà la zappa sui piedi, perché potrebbe accadere anche nelle democrazie ed essere considerata non più illegittima, oltretutto questa partitocrazia è ben più ladra di Yanucovych con le sue piscine.
Thus, this could be one of those cases in which the West shoots itself in the foot, because it could happen that even democracies could be considered no longer legitimate, especially when you consider that this “party-ocracy” is even more prone to thieving than Yanukovych with his swimming pools.

Quello che ha rubato in trent’anni altro che piscine, struzzi e bottiglie di champagne!!
In a thirty year period, it has stolen much more than swimming pools, ostriches and champagne!

Siamo di fronte a una seconda guerra fredda.
We’re facing another cold war.

Dopo il crollo dell’URSS gli Stati Uniti in particolare, ma con i loro alleati occidentali, hanno inanellato credo sette o otto guerre di aggressione, tutte!
Since the collapse of the USSR, the United States in particular, together with their western allies, have in my opinion, the chance to claim responsibility for seven or eight wars of aggression!

E solo la prima, quella del Golfo, poteva essere giustificata se Saddam Hussein aveva aggredito il Kuwait, ma le altre, Afganistan, Iraq, Libia…
And only the first, the Gulf war, could have been justified if Saddam Hussein had attacked Kuwait, but the others, in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya…

Adesso che la Russia è diventata di nuovo protagonista della scena mondiale, si ripropone la contrapposizione tra questi due blocchi e l’Occidente è all’attacco, anche economicamente, da tutte le parti, nel senso che è un tentativo di occupazione geopolitica del mondo intero.
Now that Russia has once more become a protagonist on the world stage, these two blocks can be seen on opposing sides and the West is operating in attack mode, even on the economic front, but with an attempt at a geopolitical occupation of the whole world.

Prendiamo il Venezuela, adesso, dopo la morte di Chavez, guarda caso ci sono queste rivolte.
Let’s look at Venezuela, now that Chavez has died, just by chance there’s this unrest.

E’ chiaro che in ogni Paese c’è del malcontento, a parte il fatto che la politica di Chavez in Venezuela era stata una politica non alla Castro.
Obviously there’s a certain amount of unrest in any country and the way Chavez did politics in Venezuela was not how Castro operated.

Chavez non era un comunista, ma un socialista e eletto democraticamente.
Chavez was not a communist, but a democratically elected socialist.

E’ altrettanto chiaro che gli Stati Uniti soffiano su questi malcontenti o li foraggiano.
It’s just as clear that the United States are fanning the flames and supplying these malcontents.

L’Argentina, che ha fatto una scelta intelligente, di non integrarsi nel mercato finanziario internazionale, che sta provocando disastri ovunque, è stata messa in ginocchio anche economicamente dal giro finanziario internazionale.
Argentina, that made an intelligent choice, of not becoming part of the IMF that is provoking disasters everywhere, has been brought to its knees even economically because of international financial dealings.

Quindi è in atto una sorta di guerra tra mondi dove alle due potenze tradizionali si aggiunge la terza incognita, che è il mondo musulmano che non ci sta a farsi né occidentalizzare, né comunistizzare, vuole seguire una propria linea di sviluppo.
Thus what is going on is some sort of war between worlds in which, as well as the two traditional powers, there’s a third in disguise, the Muslim world, that’s not accepting to be “westernised” nor to be made “Communist” but just wants to follow it’s own development journey.

Oggi la guerra non si combatte come ai vecchi tempi, dove sarebbero entrate truppe russe o arrivati gli americani, si combatte economicamente, quindi la Russia ricatta l’Ucraina con il gas e gli altri rispondono promettendo miliardi di dollari.
These days, war is not waged as in the olden times, where there’d have been the entry of Russian troops, or American troops, but it’s fought on the economic front, thus, Russia blackmails Ukraine using gas and the other side promises millions of dollars.

Però tutto ciò in qualche modo avviene sulla testa degli stessi ucraini e anche di noi cittadini europei.
However, all this is in a way going over the heads of the people of Ukraine, and even over the heads of the citizens of Europe.

Nessuno decide niente.
No one is deciding anything.

Noi siamo sudditi.
We are merely subjects.

Questa è una situazione che si vede ovunque e in Italia lo vediamo bene, pur essendo governati da dei quaraquaquà.
This is a situation seen everywhere and in Italy it’s easy to see, even though we are governed by those who just chatter.

Chavez aveva un’altra consistenza e se restiamo in Europa la Merkel ha un’altra consistenza, l’Italia è ormai diventata una povera cosa.
Chavez had another foundation and if we stay in Europe, Mrs Merkel has another foundation as well, by now, Italy has become a basket case.
