Il vuoto
The void

La natura rifugge il vuoto, l’Italia ne è attratta.
Nature is averse to the void. Italy is attracted to it.

Politica, economia, società sono vuoti che ci ostiniamo a riempire con il nulla.
Politics, the economy, society are voids that we insist on filling with nothingness.

La nostra soluzione al vuoto che ci assedia, che divora gli spazi quotidiani, è sempre un altro vuoto.
Our solution for the void that is besieging us, that devours the everyday spaces, is always another void.

A finzione si sussegue uguale finzione.
Following one sham, an equal sham always follows.

A ogni problema, nessun rimedio.
For each problem, no remedy.

Navighiamo a vista, ma non vediamo più l’orizzonte e neppure la stella polare.
We are navigating by sight. But we can no longer see the horizon nor the Pole Star.

Siamo in default, con un Tremorti azzoppato, l’ennesimo ministro inconsapevole di favori ricevuti.
We are in default, with a crippled Tremorti, the umpteenth Minister unaware of favours received.

Il primo è il fallimento economico conclamato dell’Italia, il secondo è il crollo degli attuali partiti.

I maggiori responsabili, la triade Pdl, Pdmenoelle e Lega, collasseranno, come avvenne nel 1992 per Dc e per il Psi.
The ones who are mainly responsible, the triad, PDL, PDminusL and Lega will collapse as happened in 1992 for the DC and the PSI.

Molti loro esponenti saranno ospiti delle patrie galere, altri ripareranno all’estero emuli di Bottino Craxi.
Many of their key figures will be hosted by the prisons of the land; others will take refuge abroad emulating Bottino Craxi.

Osservare i tranquilli parmigiani chiedere la testa del loro sindaco e affrontare a pugni nudi le forze antisommossa dovrebbe far scendere un brivido nella schiena di molti.
Observing the tranquil people of Parma calling for the head of their mayor and using their bare fists to tackle the riot police, should make a shiver go down many people’s backs.

L’Italia può trasformarsi in un’enorme bacino di White Bloc, cittadini comuni che pretendono onestà dalle amministrazioni e dalle istituzioni a qualunque costo, con qualunque rischio personale.
Italy can transform itself into an enormous area of White Bloc. Regular citizens who insist on honesty from the administrators and from the institutions at any cost, with any personal risk.

Il vuoto politico di inizio anni ’90 fu riempito con il trasformismo.
The political void of the 1990s was filled with “Trasformismo”.

La Dc si divise in due, Dc di sinistra e Dc di destra, e sopravvisse tranquillamente.
The DC divided itself into two: DC of the Left and DC of the Right and it survived happily.

Il Psi si arruolò sotto le bandiere di Forza Italia.
The PSI signed up under the banner of Forza Italia.

Il PCI si limitò a cambiare nome.
The PCI limited itself to changing its name.

Oggi il trasformismo non è più possibile.
Today “Trasformismo” is no longer possible.

In politica, i vuoti sono spesso riempiti dall’uomo della Provvidenza.
In politics, voids are often filled by the man of Providence.

Da un cialtrone che dichiara poteri taumaturgici.
By a scoundrel who claims thaumaturgical powers.

L’italiano ne è da sempre affascinato come un coniglio da un serpente a sonagli.
The Italian has always been fascinated by them, like a rabbit by a serpent with little bells.

Il presidente della Repubblica deve, al più presto, dare l’incarico di formare un nuovo governo a un uomo estraneo ai partiti con l’unico obiettivo di evitare il peggio, altrimenti ci aspetta un altro 8 settembre, ma forse anche questo non sarà sufficiente.
As soon as possible, the President of the Republic must charge a man extraneous to the parties to form a new government. He must do this with the only objective of avoiding the worst, otherwise we are going to have another 8 September. But perhaps even this will not be enough.

Loro non si arrenderanno mai (ma gli conviene?).
They will never give up (but is it in their interests?).

Noi neppure.
Neither will we.
