I understand you

Non è corretto attribuire il (mancato) voto di ieri al M5S ai pennivendoli che da dopo le elezioni politiche diffamano h24 il M5S sui giornali e su tutte le reti televisive, notoriamente di proprietà dei partiti.
It’s not right to lay the blame for yesterday’s (lack of) vote for the M5S to the paid hacks that ever since the national elections have been defaming the M5S 24/7 in the newspapers and on all the TV channels that are notorious for being owned by the parties.

Non è giusto.
It’s not right!

Il risultato delle elezioni comunali non è stato frutto di cittadini disinformati.
The results of the local elections are not the result of having badly informed citizens.

Al contrario, il voto, in quanto comunale, vicino alla realtà quotidiana, è stato dato in piena coscienza.
On the contrary, because people were voting for the towns, close to the everyday reality, people were fully conscious of what they were voting for.

Non si tratta di italiani che hanno sbagliato per consuetudine o per dabbenaggine, ma di persone pienamente responsabili della loro scelta.
It wasn’t a matter of the Italian people making mistakes out of habit or because they are gullible, but these are people who are wholly responsible for the choices they make.

Please let’s not blame the journalists or the “talk shows”. They maybe had some effect, but not that much.

Il 50% o poco meno non ha votato.
Just less than 50% didn’t vote.

Il rimanente è andato alle coalizioni di Pdl e pdmenoelle e in parte al M5S.
The rest of the voters chose the coalitions of PDL and PDminusL and in part the M5S.

Capisco chi ha votato, convinto, per il condannato in secondo grado per evasione fiscale e chi ha dato la sua preferenza ai responsabili del disastro dell’ILVA, del Monte Paschi che hanno come testimonial il prescritto Penati.
I understand those who voted with conviction, for the people convicted at the second level of the court procedures, for tax dodging and those that showed their preference for the people responsible for the ILVA disaster, and for Monte Paschi that have a witness in Penati whose trial got timed out due to the Statute of Limitations.

Capisco chi ha mantenuto la barra dritta e premiato i partiti che succhiano i finanziamenti pubblici e non chi li ha restituiti allo Stato.
I understand those who kept the bar raised and rewarded the parties that soak up public financing and not those that give back the financing to the State.

Vi capisco.
I understand.

Il vostro voto è stato pesato, meditato.
Your vote was thought about, pondered about.

Esistono due Italie.
There are two Italies.

La prima, che chiameremo Italia A, è composta da chi vive di politica, 500.000 persone, da chi ha la sicurezza di uno stipendio pubblico, 4 milioni di persone, dai pensionati, 19 milioni di persone (da cui vanno dedotte le pensioni minime che sono una vergogna).
The first, let’s call it Italy A, is made up of those who live on politics, 500,000 people, people who have the security of a public salary, 4 million people, pensioners, 19 million people (but take out those who just get a minimum pension which is just derisory).

La seconda, Italia B, di lavoratori autonomi, cassintegrati, precari, piccole e media imprese, studenti.
The second, Italy B, made up of independent workers, people laid off work, “precarious workers”, small and medium sized enterprises, students.

La prima è interessata giustamente allo status quo.
The first lot are rightly interested in maintaining the status quo.

Si vota per sé stessi e poi per il Paese.
They vote for themselves and then for the country.

Nella nostra bandiera c’è scritto “Teniamo famiglia”.
On our flag it says “We have a family to provide for”.

In questi mesi non ho sentito casi di funzionari pubblici, pluripensionati o dirigenti di partecipate che si siano suicidati.
In the last few months I haven’t heard about any civil servants, any of those with multiple pensions, or any top directors committing suicide.

Invece, giornalmente, sfrattati, imprenditori falliti, disoccupati si danno fuoco, si buttano dalla finestra o si impiccano.
However, every day there are those who have been turfed out of their homes, bankrupt business people, and unemployed people, who set themselves on fire, throw themselves out of the window or who hang themselves.

Queste due Italie sono legate tra loro come gemelli siamesi, come la sabbia di una clessidra.
These two Italies are tied together like Siamese twins like the sand in an egg timer.

L’Italia A non può vivere senza il contributo fiscale dell’Italia B, ma quest’ultima sta morendo.
Italy A cannot live without the taxes from Italy B, but the latter is dying.

Ogni minuto un’impresa ci lascia per sempre.
Every minute, a company is leaving us for ever.

Vi capisco comunque, la pensione, in particolare se doppia o superiore ai 5.000 euro, è davvero importante.
Anyway, I understand you, your pension, especially if it’s double or greater than 5,000 euro, is truly important.

Lo stipendio vi fa sopravvivere, che sia pubblico o politico non ha importanza.
Your salary allows you to live, whether it comes from public funds or from politics, doesn’t matter.

Il M5S ha commesso errori, chissà quanti, ma è stato l’unico a restituire, nella Storia della Repubblica, 42 milioni di euro allo Stato, a tagliare lo stipendio dei parlamentari e a destinare i tre quarti di quello dei consiglieri regionali siciliani alla microimpresa.
The M5S has made mistakes, who knows how many, but it is the only one in the history of the Republic, to give back 42 million euro to the State, to cut the salaries of the parliamentarians and to channel three quarters of the salaries of the Sicilian regional councillors into micro-enterprises.

L’Autunno Freddo è vicino e forse, per allora, l’Italia A capirà che votando chi li rassicura, ma in realtà ha distrutto il Paese, si sta condannando a una via senza ritorno.
The Cold Autumn is coming closer and perhaps by then, Italy A will understand that voting for those that reassure them, but who in reality have destroyed the country, is condemning them to a road of no return.

Vi capisco, avete fatto bene.
I understand. You did what’s right.

Ps: Ringrazio tutti coloro che hanno “rischiato” dando il loro voto al M5S che avrà a seguito di queste elezioni dove si presenta in 199 comuni, in quasi tutti per la prima volta, circa 3/400 nuovi consiglieri, raddoppiando quelli attuali.
PS: I’d like to thank all those who “took a risk” and voted for the M5S, and who as a consequence of these elelctions which saw them putting themselves forward in 199 towns, most for the first time, will have 300 or 400 new councillors, which is double the current number.
