“La storia giudiziaria della famiglia Ligresti è iniziata 20 anni fa con l’arresto di Salvatore Ligresti per corruzione.
“The judicial history of the Ligresti family started 20 years ago with Salvatore Ligresti‘s arrest for corruption.
Il patron ovviamente perse la presidenza del gruppo per “mancanza di requisiti di onorabilità” ma rientrò come “presidente onorario”…
The man obviously lost his position as president of the group because of “failing to meet the requirements relating to the honour of a person holding that office” but he came back in as “honorary president”…
Indagini su grandi appalti, accuse di falsificazioni di voci di bilancio, una gestione criminosa di holding, fusioni societarie e speculazioni finanziarie.
Investigations relating to big projects going our to tender, accusations of falsifying items in the accounts, criminal management of holdings, the merger of companies and financial speculation.

They are accused of false accounting and giving false news to the market.
Sulla scia dei fatti milanesi dell’anno scorso riguardanti la Premafin è partita l’indagine su Fonsai dalle denunce di piccoli azionisti.
On the back of happenings in Milan last year relating to Premafin Finanziaria Spa, investigations into FonSai were initiated at the request of small scale shareholders.

c’è un sistema “famiglia” che grazie alla complicità e al coinvolgimento di banche e politici, di finanza e della “cecità” dei controllori Isvap e Consob, riesce a distrarre centinaia e centinaia di milioni, facendo fallire le società che amministra (2 miliardi di perdite ma sempre con buone uscite milionarie per gli amministratori).
there’s a “family” system and thanks to the complicity and involvement of banks, politicians, financial institutions and the “blindness” of Isvap and Consob (the watchdogs for the insurance industry and for the stock exchange respectively) they manage to divert hundreds and hundreds of millions, bringing about the collapse of the companies they are administering (losses of 2 billion but still with golden handshakes worth millions for the administrators).
Anche nell’ultimo tentativo di salvataggio voluto da Mediobanca , tramite una fusione tra “grandi debitori”, Fonsai e Unipol, ci hanno rimesso i risparmiatori, gli azionisti che nel 2011 e nel 2012 non hanno ricevuto dividendi , hanno visto perdere il 90% del valore azionario e hanno dovuto subire un’ulteriore esborso per una ricapitalizzazione;

senza contare i lavoratori licenziati, quelli che rischiano il posto e ovviamente i gruppi assicurativi che in passato erano considerati grandi eccellenze italiane di contro per la famiglia Ligresti ci sono stati 77 milioni di buonuscita.

Molte società intestate alla famiglia sono coinvolte nei lavori dell’Expo 2015.

Qualcuno in borsa ha commentato che è più difficile perdere soldi nelle assicurazioni che farne eppure i Ligresti ci sono riusciti.
Someone in the Stock Exchange commented that it’s more difficult to lose money in the insurance industry than it is to make money, and yet the Ligresti family managed to do that.
