Saccomanni’s collateral damage
L’Italia è alla canna del gas e chi l’ha ridotta in questa condizione, invece di andarsene con passo rapido e veloce in qualche Paese senza estradizione, si prepara a svendere l’argenteria per guadagnare tempo.
Italy is at suicide point and the people who have brought us to this point, instead of making a hasty retreat to some country without extradition treaties, are preparing to sell off the family silver to gain time.
Il banchiere Saccomanni, promosso ministro dell’Economia, ha trovato la soluzione:
The banker Saccomanni, promoted Minister of the Economy, has found the solution:
“Pronti a fare cassa utilizzando Enel, Eni e Finmeccanica”.
“Ready to rake in the cash using Enel, Eni and Finmeccanica”.
Lo ha detto, per timore di qualche reazione violenta, dalla lontana Mosca dove è stato invitato per il G20 (ebbene sì, siamo ancora nei G20, ma per poco).
Afraid of a violent reaction, he made the announcement in the far-off Moscow where he’s been invited to attend the G20 (ah yes, we’re still in the G20, but not for much longer).
Impaurito dalle sue stesse parole e dai commenti della stampa internazionale ha “spiegato meglio” che “Potremmo usare le quote delle società come collaterale”.
Frightened by his own words and by the comments of the international press he “explained better” that “We’ll be able to use the company shares as collateral”.

La partecipazione dello Stato nelle uniche grandi aziende nazionali che rimangono all’Italia è quindi salva.
So State holdings of shares in the only big national companies still left in Italy, is thus safe.
Qualcuno sospettoso però potrebbe andare oltre questa analisi superficiale e investigare.
However some suspicious person could go further than this superficial analysis and do some investigation.
Un piccolo aiuto. Chi in Italia sa cosa vuol dire “bene collaterale”?.

Se alla scadenza, il debitore non è in grado di pagare quanto previsto, il creditore può rivalersi sul bene, vendendolo, e utilizzando tutto o parte del ricavato per soddisfare il suo credito.
If the debtor is unable to pay back the agreed amount, at the moment when the debt falls due, then the creditor can take the product and sell it and use the whole or a part of the cash recovered to cover the amount outstanding.
Nel caso di titolo azionario può venire acquistato da chi vuole speculare con denaro a prestito e la garanzia rappresentata dal titolo stesso.”

In sostanza un collaterale è una cambiale in bianco, un pagherò dato in garanzia, in questo caso delle azioni delle aziende di Stato.
Basically collateral security is like a promissory note on which the value has been left blank, an I O U given to secure a debt, in this case – shares in state companies.
“Ah, ma allora è tutta un’altra cosa!”, dirà il cittadino finalmente informato e rassicurato:
“Ah, so it’s something quite different!”, says the citizen who has finally been informed and reassured:
“Non è una semplice vendita, ma un collaterale”.
“It’s not simply a sale, but collateral security”.
Gli effetti, i saccodanni collaterali, saranno a lunga scadenza con la perdita del controllo del 30% dello Stato e della “golden share”, che consente di incidere sulle decisioni strategiche, e una diminuzione dei dividendi che vanno alle casse pubbliche.
The effects, Saccomanni’s collateral damage, will be long term, leading to the loss of control of the State’s 30% and the “golden share”, that makes it possible to have power in making strategic decisions, and a fall in dividends going into the public coffers.
