Lo stop di Napolitano al legittimo impedimento di Brancher mi ha risollevato dalla delusione per la prematura esclusione dell’Italia dai mondiali del Sudafrica.
Napolitano’s halt to Brancher’s legitimate impediment has managed to once again lift the veil of disappointment that descended on me after Italy’s early exit from the world championships in South Africa.
Lo avevo scritto qui, in questo blog. Oggi è arrivata la conferma.

Aldo Brancher, ex dipendente Fininvest, ieri condannato per falso in bilancio e finanziamento illecito all’allora Psi e recluso a San Vittore, oggi indagato per appropriazione indebita e ricettazione, è stato nominato ministro dal suo amico Berlusconi per beneficiare del legittimo impedimento.
Aldo Brancher, the former Fininvest employee who was previously convicted of fraudulent accounting and illegal funding of the then Psi (Italian Socialist Party) and imprisoned in the San Vittore Prison and now stands accused of illegal appropriation and receiving stolen goods, was appointed as minister by his friend Berlusconi simply so that he could benefit from the legitimate impediment legislation.
In questo modo, quindi, ha evitato di presentarsi questa mattina al tribunale di Milano, dove è imputato nel processo sulla scalata ad Antonveneta da parte di Bpi.
In this way, he therefore avoided appearing in the Milan court this morning, where he was to appear in the dock with regard to BPI’s takeover bid for the Antonveneta bank.
Ciò è possibile grazie alle leggi di questo Governo. Leggi su misura per una classe dirigente implicata nei più disparati procedimenti giudiziari.
This was only possible thanks to the laws promulgated by the current Government, in other words, the tailor-made laws that were introduced solely to protect members of the ruling class involved in a wide variety of legal proceedings.

Adesso se n’è accorta anche la Lega che abbaia comunque a testa bassa.

La realtà è chiara a tutti:

questa legge non ha senso, se non quello di bloccare il corso della giustizia.
This law has no purpose other than to obstruct the course of justice.
Diversamente, sarebbe il caso che il legittimo impedimento venisse esteso a tutti i cittadini che hanno impegni più o meno importanti.
If this were not so, then the facility would have been extended to all Italian citizens who may have more or less important commitments.
Un impiegato che percepisce 1200 euro al mese ha sicuramente più obblighi rispetto a Brancher.
Even your average public servant earning a mere 1200 Euro a month has more obligations than Brancher does.
Se il primo non si presenta al lavoro per tre giorni viene licenziato.
If the former doesn’t turn up for work for three days, his/her services are terminated.
Se Brancher diserta il Parlamento per due settimane non gli succede niente.
If Brancher, instead, stays away from Parliament for two weeks, nothing whatsoever will happen to him.
Non se ne accorge nessuno e continua ad essere retribuito a spese degli italiani.
No one would even notice his absence, yet he will continue to receive a salary, courtesy of the Italian taxpayer.
Adesso Brancher ha un solo obbligo: dimettersi e farsi processare.
Now Brancher only has one duty, namely to resign from his post and to face prosecution.
Per questo, l’Italia dei Valori ha già pronta una mozione di sfiducia nei suoi confronti e ha chiesto un incontro urgente, a partire dall’inizio della prossima settimana, per concordare un unico testo insieme a tutto il Parlamento.
In this regard, the Italia dei Valori has already tabled a no-confidence motion against him and has requested that an urgent meeting be held early next week to agree a consolidated text with the entire Parliament.
In Italia bisogna riscoprire il senso etico.
What Italy needs is for its people to rediscover their sense of ethics.
Sono convinto che questo Paese non abbia bisogno di leggi come il legittimo impedimento.

Le priorità e le necessità sono altre.
The priorities and needs are totally otherwise.
Per ricominciare ad essere una nazione civile abbiamo soltanto una chance: mandare a casa non solo Berlusconi, che ormai è una parte del problema, ma tutti i suoi fiancheggiatori di governo.
There is only one way for us to once again become a civilised nation, namely to send home not only Berlusconi, who has long since become a major part of the problem, but also all the Government supporters.
