Forma

Costruzione

Esempio

forma affermativa SOGGETTO + AUSILIARE I am tired (sono stanco)
forma negativa SOGGETTO + AUSILIARE + NOT I am not tired (non sono stanco)
forma interrogativa AUSILIARE + SOGGETTO? Are you tired? (sei stanco?)

Esempio:

Futuro: tempo composto, formato dall’ausiliare WILL + forma base del verbo.

It will rain (pioverà)

It will not rain (non pioverà)

Will it rain? (pioverà?)

Present Perfect
: tempo composto, formato dall’ausiliare TO HAVE + Participio Passato del verbo.

Mark has gone to work (Mark è andato al lavoro)

Mark has not gone to work (Mark non è andato al lavoro)

Has Mark gone to work? (Mark è andato al lavoro?)

Present Continuous
: tempo composto, formato dall’ausiliare TO BE al Simple Present + -ing form del verbo.

You are going to work (stai andando al lavoro)

You are not going to work (non stai andando al lavoro)

Are you going to work?

È l’ausiliare DO che:

  • Nella forma negativa prende Il not.

I do not work (io non lavoro)

  • Nella forma interrogativa precede il soggetto.

Do you work? (lavori?)

  • Alla 3° persona sing. del Simple Present diventa does.

Does Mark work? (Mark lavora?)

  • Al Simple Past diventa did.

Did you work yesterday? (hai lavorato ieri?)
