Keep the GMOs out of Italy
Imperterrito il Governo “tira dritto” nei suoi scempi quotidiani.
Undeterred, the Government continues to “carry on regardless” with its daily idiocies.
Oggi tocca all’agricoltura.
Today it is the turn of agriculture.
Se dove passava Attila non cresceva più l’erba, dove passa il governo Berlusconi non cresceranno più patate, piselli e pomodori autoctoni.
If it is true that wherever Attila the Hun set foot the grass no longer grew, then wherever the Berlusconi government sets foot the indigenous potatoes, peas and tomatoes will no longer be grown.
Giovedì 28 gennaio ci sarà il via libera alla coesistenza tra colture tradizionali e Ogm.
On Thursday 28 January, the go-ahead will be given for traditional crops and GMOs to live side by side.
Saremo colonizzati dalle multinazionali, in prevalenza americane, che posseggono i brevetti sui semi.
We are about to be colonised by the multinationals, mainly the American ones, which hold the patents on the seeds.

Coexistence between normal crops and GMOs is impossible.
Il seme Ogm contamina ogni coltura attraverso l’aria, la terra, i corsi d’acqua.
The GMO seed contaminates all other crops via the air, the soil and the water courses.
La UE, sotto la spinta delle multinazionali ha approvato da tempo la direttiva europea che autorizza i brevetti sulla materia vivente (98/44), e quindi la diffusione degli Ogm, nella totale disinformazione dei cittadini europei.
Following pressure from the multinationals, some time ago the EU approved a European Directive that permits patents on living material (98/44) and so began the spread of GMOs and the total disinformation of European citizens.
Una materia per la quale sarebbe necessario un referendum.
This is one topic on which a referendum should be held.
La UE ha poi ammesso, contraddicendo sé stessa, che la coesistenza con gli Ogm è impossibile e lasciato ai singoli Stati la decisione su come introdurre l’Ogm.
The EU then contradicted itself by admitted that any coexistence with the GMOs is impossible and proceeded to leave the decision on how to introduce GMOs up to the individual member States.
L’Italia ha trasferito la decisione alle aree regionali che non hanno trovato una soluzione (del resto inesistente) bloccando di fatto il processo di diffusione dell’Ogm.
Italy in turn left the decision up to the individual Regions, which were unable to find any solution (because there isn’t one) and thereby effectively blocking the spread of GMOs.
Ora, senza discussioni pubbliche, senza darne informazione, come uno sparo nel buio, si è concluso un fantomatico accordo tra Regioni (attraverso quali rappresentanti?) e Governo per la diffusione dell’Ogm.
Now, all of a sudden, without any public consultation, without distributing any information, like a bolt from the blue, it appears that some or other mysterious agreement has been reached between the Regions (via which representatives precisely) and the Government regarding the spread of GMOs.
Una decisione presa in totale spregio delle parti interessate, (consumatori, agricoltori, distributori, ecc.) violando la Convenzione internazionale di AARHUS a cui l’Italia aderisce.
A decision taken without any regard for the affected parties (consumers, farmers, distributors, etc.), thereby violating the AARHUS International Convention to which Italy is a signatory.
Chi vuole l’Ogm e la distruzione dell’agricoltura italiana?
Who is it that really wants to see the introduction of GMOs and the destruction of Italian agriculture?
GlI Ogm vanno messi fuori legge, ecco alcuni motivi:
GMOs must be classified as illegal, and here are a number of reasons why:
– hanno promesso aumenti nei raccolti e riduzione dell’inquinamento chimico, promesse ribaltate (vedi rapporto nov.09 di C.Benbrook: meno 10% nei raccolti e 4 volte più inquinamento da pesticidi);
– they promised increased yields and a reduction in the levels of chemical pollution, promises that have since been overturned (see the C. Benbrook report dated November 09:10% reduction in harvest yields and 4 times as much pollution by pesticides);
– sono un rischio per la salute umana e per l’ambiente;
– they constitute a health and an environmental hazard;
– hanno privatizzato la materia vivente del pianeta, un “bene comune” prezioso quanto l’acqua;
– they have privatised the Earth’s living matter, a “communal asset” that is as precious as water ;
– non migliorano la distribuzione di cibo nel mondo, ma sono una causa della fame nel mondo.
– they do not contribute to improving the distribution of food around the world but instead are one of the causes of the worldwide spread of hunger.
I popoli dipendono da multinazionali votate al profitto, con la riscossione del diritto di brevetto (ad ogni ciclo riproduttivo della pianta) e con il controllo del mercato globale del cibo.
The world’s population depend on multinationals that are profit driven and cash in on patent royalties (for each and every crop cycle) and whose aim is to control the global food market.
Il Governo, in silenzio, vuol fare passare una legge che devasterà l’Italia nonostante siano contrari all’Ogm:
The Government is attempting to very quietly pass a law that will ruin Italy, notwithstanding the fact that the following individuals and organisations are against GMOs:
– il ministro dell’Agricoltura Zaia
– the Minister of Agriculture, Minister Zaia
– 41 Province e 2.446 Comuni e 16 Regioni
– 41 Provinces, 2,446 Municipalities and 16 Regions
– la Coldiretti (9.812 sezioni nelle 18 regioni e 568.000 agricoltori)
– the Coldiretti Association (9,812 sections across 18 Regions with 568,000 farmers as members)
– la Coop, la maggiore catena di distribuzione alimentare
– the Coop, the Country’s larges foodstuff distribution chain
– aziende di prodotti alimentari, come Barilla, Amadori, Bovinmarche, Fileni
– foodstuff manufacturing companies such as Barilla, Amadori, Bovinmarche and Fileni
– Gianni Alemanno, già Ministro dell’Agricoltura e oggi Sindaco di Roma
– Gianni Alemanno, former Minister of Agriculture and current Mayor of Rome
E infine lo stesso Papa nel 2009 con il documento: “Instrumentum laboris” per il Sinodo dei Vescovi Africani :
– And even the Pope himself who, in the 2009 document entitled “Instrumentum laboris” drafted for the Synod of African Bishops wrote that:
“La campagna di semina di Ogm pretende di assicurare la sicurezza alimentare – Questa tecnica rischia di rovinare i piccoli coltivatori e di sopprimere le loro semine tradizionali rendendoli dipendenti dalle società produttrici di Ogm”.
“The campaign for the planting of GMOs claims to be ensuring foodstuff security – This technique threatens to ruin small-scale farmers and to kill off their traditional crops, thus making them dependent on the companies producing GMOs “.
