Il più bel viaggio della mia vita
The greatest journey of my life

Oggi, ad Arezzo finisce il mio tour elettorale iniziato a Nogara.
Today in Arezzo I’m ending the election tour that started in Nogara.

E’ tempo di fare un bilancio.
It’s the time for reflecting on how it went.

Il calore contagioso delle persone a Nord come a Sud.
The contagious warmth of the people in the North just as in the South.

Le adotterei tutte.
I would adopt them all.

Mi sono sentito sicuro, protetto in mezzo a loro, non ho avuto bisogno di nessuna scorta.
I have felt safe and protected in the middle of them. I haven’t needed any body guards.

Il camper che ho preso in prestito ha retto alle migliaia di chilometri macinati di giorno e di notte.
The camper that I borrowed has withstood the thousands of kilometres travelled by day and night.

La mia gola e i miei polmoni hanno resistito, anche se ora sono quasi afono e per gli ultimi incontri ho dovuto usare l’aerosol.
My throat and my lungs have coped, even though I am almost hoarse and for the last few meetings I’ve had to use a spray.

Le piazze piene per ascoltare le mie parole e quelle dei candidati del MoVimento 5 Stelle, i “ragazzini” come li hanno definiti in modo spregiativo le mummie della politica.
The squares were full of people listening to my words and those of the 5 Star MoVement candidates, the “young kids” as they were defined in an insulting way by the “mummies” of politics.

No incident; the Digos and the Carabinieri have never seen people all together yet so much at peace.

Un tour elettorale alla genovese, le uniche spese che ho sostenuto sono state la benzina, i pedaggi autostradali, qualche notte in albergo e il lusso di un elicottero per poter arrivare in tempo a Salerno.
A Genoa-style election tour. The only expenses have been petrol, the motorway tolls, a few nights in a hotel and the luxury of a helicopter so as to be able to arrive at Salerno on time.

Spesso degli sconosciuti, quasi sempre con fare timido, bussavano alla porta del camper per regalarci prodotti locali, vino, prosciutti, provole di cui non è rimasto nulla.
Often, people I didn’t know, always in a timid way, knocked on the door of the camper to bring us gifts of local produce like wine, ham, salami which got polished off with nothing left over.

Ho viaggiato con due ragazzi, uno guidava, talvolta cantava canzoni di Bob Marley, uno organizzava gli incontri e pubblicava ogni cosa in Rete.
I travelled with two youngsters, one driving and sometimes he was singing Bob Marley songs and one organised the meetings and published everything on the Web.

Il tour ha un numero enorme di testimonianze su Twitter, FB, YouTube, Flickr.
The tour has an enormous number of witness statements on Twitter, FB, YouTube, Flickr.

Quasi sempre è stata organizzata una diretta degli incontri via streaming con Ustream, Livestream o altre piattaforme.
Almost always live streaming was organised on Ustream, Livestream or other platforms.

Decine di migliaia di persone li hanno seguiti.
Tens of thousands of people have been following us.

I media all’inizio ci hanno ignorato, poi insultato.
At first the media ignored us, then they insulted us.

Hanno utilizzato un saluto alle persone in piazza a Bologna per trasformarlo in un insulto a un politico, cosa che non ho mai fatto e neppure pensato.
They used a greeting to one person in the square in Bologna to transform it into an insult against a politician, which is something I have never done nor even thought of.

Poveri giornalisti cialtroni di sinistra, destra e centro.
Poor good-for-nothing journalists of the Left, Right and Centre.

Quante uovasode devono inghiottire per uno stipendio.
What a lot of hard boiled eggs they have to consume for a salary.

Ferrara ne ha mangiate a tonnellate e Gilioli e P.Battista stanno ingrassando a vista d’occhio.  
Ferrara has eaten tons of them and Gilioli and P. Battista are getting fat in front of our very eyes.

Nessuno ha parlato del Programma del MoVimento 5 Stelle che è in bella vista sul blog e stampabile da tutti o ha sottolineato che non prendiamo contributi elettorali.
No one has talked about the programme of the “MoVimento 5 Stelle” (M5S) {5 Star MoVement} that is very visible on the blog and can be printed out by everyone, nor have they pointed out that we are not taking any election contributions.

Nessuno ha ricordato che il M5S vuole, ad esempio:

Abolition of the controlling Authorities and at the same time bringing in a true class action.

Possibility of having referendums that can propose something or do away with something in existence without the need for a quorum. ”

Sono stanco, ma contento.
I’m tired but happy.

Molto contento. Adesso sto viaggiando verso le ultime tappe.
Very happy. Now I’m on the journey towards the last few stops.

Thank you for the warm feelings and for the humanity that you have extended to me.

E’ stato forse il viaggio più bello della mia vita.
It has perhaps been the greatest journey of my life.
