Let’s take the land from the hunters

Nella stagione di caccia 2010/2011 ci sono state 100 vittime, 25 morti e 75 feriti.
In the 2010/2011 hunting season there were 100 victims, 25 dead and 75 injured.

La maggior parte in Toscana, Sardegna, Lombardia e Veneto.
Mostly in Tuscany, Sardinia, Lombardy and Veneto.

In complesso è andata bene se si considera che l’Italia si trasforma per mesi in un poligono di tiro.
Overall it went well, considering that for months Italy is transformed into a shooting range.

Un bosco è più pericoloso delle zone di guerra dell’Afghanistan.
A wood is more dangerous than the war zones of Afghanistan.

Durante le passeggiate autunnali il canto degli uccelli è sostituito dai rimbombi dei fucili.
During an Autumn walk, the sound of birds singing is replaced by the roar of rifles.

Se non corri, diventi tu il cinghiale, la lepre, il cerbiatto.
If you don’t run, you become the wild boar, the hare or the deer.

E neppure nelle mura di casa tua sei al sicuro.
And not even within the walls of your own home are you safe.

A volte capita di avvertire delle schioppettate anche quando la caccia è chiusa.

One morning in January, at the first light of dawn, while we were asleep, we were woken with a start by a loud sound of glass shattering.

I due bambini sono rimasti illesi mentre la donna è rimasta leggermente ferita ad una coscia.
The two children were unhurt while the woman was slightly hurt on her thigh.

Il proiettile ha sfondato il lunotto della vettura, su cui viaggiavano un uomo di 31 anni di Verrès ed il figlio, e si è conficcato nel baule posteriore….” (20/12/2010)

Se la caccia non si può (per ora) proibire, si possono però limitare le sparatorie a ridosso delle abitazioni e delle strade.
If it’s not possible (for now) to prohibit hunting, shootings can be limited near homes and roads.

Per farlo va rivisto l’articolo 842 del Codice Civile, introdotto durante il fascismo, che permette l’esercizio della caccia in fondi privati (**).
To do that, article 842 of the Civil Code needs revising. It was brought in, in fascist times to allow hunting on private land. (**)

Un articolo incostituzionale che rappresenta una violazione del principio di uguaglianza dei cittadini davanti alla legge (art.3) e devono rivedere il diritto alla proprietà privata (art.42).
An unconstitutional article that represents a violation of the principle of equality of citizens before the law (article 3) and they have to revise the right to have property (article 42).
