I’ve landed in Sicily
Questo è il terzo sbarco in Sicilia in 150 anni.
This is the third landing in Sicily in 150 years.
Il primo fu Garibaldi che portò i Savoia, il secondo fu fatto dagli americani che portarono la mafia, il terzo sono io con il MoVimento 5 Stelle, ma né Garibaldi o Nino Bixio o Lucky Luciano sono arrivati in Sicilia a nuoto.
Garibaldi was the first to land and he brought the Savoys, in the second landing came the Americans and they brought the mafia, the third to land is me with the MoVimento 5 Stelle, but none of them – Garibaldi, Nino Bixio, or Lucky Luciano swam to Sicily.
La Grecia fallisce per il suo debito, la Sicilia fallisce per il suo credito verso lo Stato italiano che gli presta come elemosina solo una parte di ciò che gli deve, ma non pareggia mai il conto.
Greece is going bust because of its debt, Sicily is going bust because of its credit with the Italian State that loans it just a part of what it owes it, as though giving alms, but it never settles the account.

The Region of Sicily claims it is owed a billion euro by the Italian State and Sicilian companies are owed 5 billion euro.
La Sicilia potrebbe vivere meglio senza l’Italia, ma l’Italia non potrebbe vivere senza la Sicilia.
Sicily could live better without Italy, but Italy could not live without Sicily.
Se la Sicilia dovesse andarsene, costretta dal malfunzionamento dello Stato e delle istituzioni, sarebbe l’inizio di un domino cui seguirebbero altre Regioni e la fine dell’Italia, forse la sua balcanizzazione.
If Sicily were to separate off, obliged to do so by the nonfunctional State and the institutions, it would be the start of a domino effect and it would be followed by other Regions and the end of Italy, perhaps its Balkanisation.
Quest’isola ha bisogno del rilancio dei trasporti locali, della banda larga diffusa, di strutture turistiche, della valorizzazione dei suoi giacimenti artistici, di una nuova economia legata alle telecomunicazioni e allo sviluppo del digitale, di investimenti in start-up collegate alle università, di trattenere qui i suoi giovani, il suo futuro, ma soprattutto ha bisogno di onestà nelle istituzioni.
This island needs a relaunch of local transport, the widespread availability of Broadband, infrastructure for tourism, the development of its art treasures, a new economic framework based on telecommunications and the development of the digital economy, investments in start up companies connected to the universities. It needs to keep its young people here. They are the future of Sicily. But above all else, it needs honesty within its institutions.
