Vorrei ricordare che il Codice Europeo per la Prevenzione dei Tumori dice:
I would like to draw attention to the European Code Against Cancer that says:
Evitare il consumo di bevande zuccherate
Limit the consumption of sugary drinks
Evitare il consumo di carni conservate
Limit the consumption of processed meat
Limitare il consumo di cibi ad alta densità calorica, cioè molto ricchi di grassi e di zuccheri
Limit the consumption of high-calorie foods (foods high in sugar or fat)
>>> Limitare il consumo di carne rosse
Limit the consumption of red meat
E allora io mi chiedo:

“ma nella ristorazione che ci sarà all’Expo ci saranno le bevande zuccherate?

Expo senza cibo biologico

Certo, lo slogan non conteneva “sponsorizziamo il cibo biologico”, lo slogan diceva “nutrire il pianeta”.
To be sure, the slogan didn’t say “we are sponsoring organic food”, the slogan said”Feeding the planet”.
La cosa che mi ha colpito di questi tavoli per la preparazione del contenuto dell’Expo, che è stato fatta recentissimamente questa grande riunione…
What has really struck me about these thematic groups for preparing the Expo content, something that has taken place only recently with a great big meeting ……
non c’era neanche un tavolo in cui si discutesse del biologico.
is that there was not even one group discussing organic food.
E’ strano.
That’s strange.
Mi ha colpito.
That really struck me.
Avrei scommesso che ci sarebbe stato perché oggi anche le grandi industrie multinazionali chimiche investono nel biologico perché comincia a essere uno dei pochi settori dell’economia agraria che è in crescita.
I would have bet there would be, because today even the big multinational chemical industries are investing in the organic sector because it is starting to be one of the few agricultural sectors that is growing.
Per cui pensavo che avrebbero in qualche modo promosso il biologico.
So I thought that in one way or another, it would be promoting organic food.

Alcuni anni (nel 2009, ndr) fa erano stati fatti “gli stati generali dell’Expo” e c’era stato un discorso applauditissimo di Carlin Petrini, il fondatore di Slow Food, che diceva “che non un ettaro di terreno agricolo sia cementificato per l’Expo, che non un kilowatt di energia per l’Expo derivi da altro che energia rinnovabile” Un monito interessante.
A few years ago [in 2009, editor] there was “Expo’s General Assembly” and there was a speech that got so much applause – delivered by Carlin Petrini, the founder of Slow Food, and he said “let not one hectare of agricultural land be covered with cement for Expo, let not one kilowatt of energy for Expo come from anything but renewable sources” An interesting admonition.

Le parole sensate le ha dette il papa.
It’s the pope that has said the words that make sense.
Papa Francesco ha parlato del paradosso dell’abbondanza, il paradosso per cui si produce una quantità enorme di cibo che potrebbe nutrire dieci miliardi di persone eppure ci sono persone che non hanno cibo.
Pope Francis has talked about the paradox of abundance, the paradox that sees the production of an enormous quantity of food that could feed ten billion people and yet there are people that don’t have food.
E papa Francesco ha dato delle raccomandazioni anche, delle raccomandazioni di concretezza.
And Pope Francis has also made some recommendations, some solid recommendations.
