Investment Plan for Europe: new guidelines on combining European Structural and Investment Funds with the EFSI

The Commission, in partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB), explains how to best combine the funds.

The European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) – the heart of the Investment Plan for Europe – and European Structural and Investment Funds (ESI Funds) both play a crucial role in creating jobs and growth.
Il Fondo europeo per gli investimenti strategici (FEIS), fulcro del piano di investimenti per l’Europa, e i Fondi strutturali e di investimento europei (fondi SIE) svolgono insieme un ruolo cruciale per la creazione di posti di lavoro e la crescita.
A brochure published today is designed to help local authorities and project promoters make full use of the opportunities of combining the EFSI and ESI Funds.
Obiettivo dell’opuscolo pubblicato oggi è aiutare le autorità locali e i promotori dei progetti a sfruttare appieno le opportunità derivanti dall’uso complementare del FEIS e dei fondi SIE.
These two instruments have been designed in a different but complementary way in terms of rationale, design, and legislative framework. They reinforce each other.
I due strumenti, pur nella loro diversità, sono complementari tra loro in termini di ratio, concezione e quadro legislativo e si rafforzano a vicenda.

The brochure provides an overview of the possible combinations of EFSI and ESI Funds, either at project level or through a financial instrument such as an investment platform.
