The TV is dead

Le discussioni sui programmi televisivi, le parcelle da pagare o le ospitate gratis, i veti e i controveti, gli attacchi alla democrazia e la libertà di parola di questi giorni mi sembrano l’accanimento su un cadavere.
The discussions about TV programmes, the fees to be paid or do you appear for free, the vetoes and the counter-vetoes, the attacks against democracy and the freedom of speech of the last few days seem to me like fury over a corpse.

La televisione è morta da un pezzo.
The TV has been dead for a bit.

Gli unici a non saperlo sono quelli che ci vanno.
The only ones who don’t know that are the ones that go on TV.

Nessuno vieta al grande artista, al profondo comunicatore, all’intrattenitore colto di rischiare in proprio, o cercare un finanziatore, per diffondere le sue verità democratiche, o meno, in Rete.
No one forbids the great artiste, the in-depth communicator, the cultured entertainer to risk setting up on their own, or to look for a person to finance them, to spread their democratic (or non-democratic) truths on the Internet.

Apra un account su YouTube, si filmi e chi vuole lo guarderà.
Open an account on YouTube. Take a video of yourself and those who want to, will watch it.

Chi lo paga?
Who will pay for it?

Questo può essere un problema.
This could be a problem.

E quanto lo paga?
And how much will they pay?

Questo, per molti, è un problema ancora più grande.
For many people, this is an even bigger problem.

Un consiglio.
A word of advice.

Crei un sito, dei contenuti, li sviluppi e chieda alle folle oceaniche che sentirebbero la sua mancanza in televisione di finanziarlo on line.
Create your own website. Create content. Develop it and ask the massive crowds that would miss you on TV to finance it online.
<<< Sembra una provocazione, ma non lo è.
It seems like a provocation. But it’s not.

Avrebbe la libertà di dire ciò che vuole e un probabile introito, forse piccolo, forse grande, ed essere indipendente da consigli di amministrazione, direttori, politici.
You would have the freedom to say what you want and a possible income stream, perhaps tiny, perhaps big, and you would be free from Boards of Directors, directors, politicians.

Lui e il pubblico che, spontaneamente, si collega per ascoltarlo.
You and the public that spontaneously will connect to listen to you.

Nessun altro.
No one else.

Giocherebbe d’anticipo.
It would be playing in advance.

L’integrazione internet/televisione è un dato di fatto, la scomparsa dei palinsesti generalisti solo un problema di tempo.
The integration of Internet and TV is a given fact, the disappearance of generalist settings are just a matter of time.

Nessuna persona sana di mente e informata sui fatti investirebbe oggi in azioni di Mediaset, RAI (se si quotasse) o La 7.
No sane person who is well informed about things would today invest in shares of Mediaset, RAI (if it were to be quoted on the Stock Exchange) or La 7.

Sarebbe come investire in ferri da cavallo all’avvento delle prime automobili della Ford.
It would be like investing in horseshoes at the time of the first Ford motor cars.

In un futuro non così lontano ti siederai in poltrona e navigherai sullo schermo di casa.
In a future that’s not so far off, you will sit in an armchair and you will navigate around the screen in your house.

Sceglierai tu chi seguire, non decideranno Masi o Confalonieri o i partiti o il digitale terrestre.
It’ll be you who chooses who to follow. It won’t be decisions taken by Masi or Confalonieri or the parties or the digital terrestrial.

Ad ogni minuto nel mondo qualcuno abbandona la televisione per Internet.
Every minute, someone in the world is abandoning the TV in favour of the Internet.

E’ come una clessidra con granelli di polvere che si trasferiscono da un luogo a un altro.
It’s like an egg timer with grains of sand that move from one location to another.

Un posto con nuove regole e opportunità in cui ci si gioca tutto senza paracaduti.
A place with new rules and opportunities where everything is played for with no parachutes.

Nel quale la propria credibilità è l’unico valore economico.
Where your own credibility is the only thing with financial value.

L’unico per cui qualcuno è disposto a pagare.
The only reason why someone is willing to pay.

Un mondo senza Minzolini, Vespa, Fazio, nel quale il caravanserraglio dei politici svanirebbe.
A world without Minzolini, Vespa and Fazio. A world where the caravanserai of the politicians would disappear.

Chi si collegherebbe e soprattutto pagherebbe per ascoltare Cicchitto, La Russa o Bersani?
Who would connect and above all would pay to listen to Cicchitto, La Russa or Bersani?

Dovrebbero essere loro a pagarli e forse non basterebbe.
It should be them who pay and perhaps that would not be enough.

Ecco, alla televisione rimarrà solo questo, il telespettatore pagato, come le folle che sbarcano dai pullman pagati con il pranzo al sacco pagato per le manifestazioni pagate dai partiti finanziati dai cittadini.

Il telespettatore pagante si trasferirà invece armi e bagagli in Rete e sceglierà lui a chi dare i suoi soldi.
