Cono Cantelmi, 41 anni, avvocato di Catanzaro, è il candidato del Movimento 5 Stelle per la Regione Calabria per le elezioni regionali del 23 novembre.

il reddito di cittadinanza per aiutare chi non ce la fa, per tornare a dare speranza ai calabresi senza lavoro e alle calabresi che perdono il posto quando aspettano un figlio, per togliere i ragazzi dal giro della manovalanza malavitosa.

Attingeremo dal fondo di riserva per i debiti fuori bilancio, ma soprattutto faremo una guerra senza quartiere contro gli sprechi della casta in Regione: e lì i soldi ci sono eccome!
We’ll make use of the contingency reserve fund for the potential liabilities presented off the balance sheet, but above all we’ll have an all-out war against the waste of the caste in the Region: and there’s money in abundance!

La bonifica del territorio, perchè oggi in Calabria abbiamo un territorio martoriato che è causa di morte e malattie.
Cleaning up of the region, because today in Calabria we have a devastated region that has seen death and disease.
E più malattie significano più soldi alla sanità privata, che non aspetta altro per arricchirsi.
And the more disease there is means more money to the private health care providers. They are just delighted to get rich.
Come si affronta l’emergenza sanità in Calabria?
What’s being done to tackle the health care emergency in Calabria?
Il diritto alla salute è inviolabile, ma in Calabria la sanità è al collasso.
The right to good health is inviolable, but in Calabria the health care system is collapsing.
C’è un sistema marcio che alimenta il sistema privato a danno della salute e delle tasche dei calabresi.
There’s a rotten system that is feeding into the private system to the detriment of the health and the finances of the people of Calabria.
Dicono che gli ospedali chiudono perchè non ci sono soldi, e invece le risorse ci sono, peccato che vengano distribuite agli amici dei potenti.
It’s said that the hospitals are closing down because there’s no money, and yet the resources are there – it’s just a shame that they are distributed to the friends of the powerful
Noi puntiamo invece sulla sanità pubblica e guardiamo con attenzione alle Case della salute, sul modello emiliano.
However, we are aiming to strengthen the public health care system and we are paying close attention to the Emilia model of the “Case della salute” (houses of health}.
E poi c’è l’emergenza lavoro.
And then there’s the employment emergency.
Lo ripeto sempre: produciamo lavoro, non produciamo rifiuti.
I’m always saying this: we must produce work, we must not produce waste.
Che tradotto significa: facciamo la differenziata porta a porta, affidiamo il servizio in house ai Comuni e così creiamo nuovi posti di lavoro.
And that means: we must have recycling and separate door-to-door collections. This must not be outsourced and so we will create new jobs.
E basta con la filosofia del ‘lasciar correre’:
It’s no longer acceptable to put up with the idea of ‘let it be’:
favoriamo i sindaci virtuosi e colpiamo le tasche di quelli che si rifiutano di fare la differenziata.
we are going to give encouragement to the “virtuous” mayors and those who refuse to have separate recycling of waste will suffer financially.
Da dove comincerà la lotta agli sprechi?

With the annuities of the regional councillors.
Ho chiesto agli altri candidati presidenti di sottoscrivere un impegno etico per ridursi lo stipendio a 2.500 euro e restituire i rimborsi elettorali, ma fanno finta di non sentire.
I have asked the other candidates for the position of president of the region, to sign up to an ethical commitment to reduce the salary of whoever holds this position to 2,500 euro and to give back the money from any election expenses that have been reimbursed, but my request has fallen on deaf ears.

What will the M5S do?
Quello che restituiremo andrà in un fondo per l’emergenza abitativa perchè in Calabria c’è chi non ce riesce nemmeno ad avere un’abitazione dignitosa.
What we give back will go into a fund for emergency housing because in Calabria there are those who can’t even get a decent home.
Come affronterete la lotta alla mafia?
How should the battle against the mafia be conducted?
Innanzitutto serve un cambiamento culturale:
First of all, what’s needed is a culture change:
cambiando i piccoli gesti di ognuno di noi si comincia a combattere il terreno fertile per la mafia.
changing the small actions of each one of us we can start the fight on the territory that is a fertile breeding ground for the mafia.
E poi faremo le pulci ai bandi pubblici perchè è lì che si annida il malaffare.
And then we’ll closely examine the public tendering systems because that’s where the business malpractice is to be found.
In Calabria se non c’è l’interesse del potente, non si fanno bandi e chi ne ha veramente bisogno quei soldi non li vede mai.
In Calabria, there are no public tenders unless powerful people take an interest and those who really need that money never get a look in.
I calabresi come possono tornare ad essere protagonisti del loro territorio?
How can the people of Calabria be protagonists once more in their region?
Vorremmo un progetto di bilancio partecipato e dare ai cittadini la possibilità di decidere come spendere i soldi che la Regione stanzia.
We want to have a participatory budgeting project to give the citizens the possibility to make decisions about how to spend the money provided by the Region.
Un cittadino che partecipa attivamente alla cosa pubblica ed entra nel fortino della corruzione, è in grado di generare trasparenza e consapevolezza.
A citizen who is actively participating in public affairs can generate transparency and awareness if they come up against the stronghold of corruption.
Da qui nasce passione e coinvolgimento e quello che ne può venire fuori è uno tsunami di civiltà!
This gives rise to passion and involvement and whatever results could be a tsunami of civilisation!
Come sarebbe la Calabria a 5 Stelle?
What would a 5 Star Calabria be like?
Una Calabria in cui i calabresi tornano ad appassionarsi alla buona politica ed entrano insieme a noi nel Palazzo per abbattere gli sprechi, pagare meno tasse e rimettere in circolo buoni soldi.
A Calabria where the people of Calabria get passionate once more about good politics and together with us, they walk into the centres of power and eliminate waste, pay less in tax and get good money in circulation.
Ci vuole coraggio, lo so, ma quello non ci manca.
I know that courage is needed, but that’s not lacking.
