“Siamo alla fiera del Mobile di Milano, 50 mila presenze al giorno quindi il 50% dell’ Expò giornaliero lo fa solo la fiera, organizzata in una maniera straordinaria secondo me.
“I am at the Milan Furniture Fair.It has 50 thousand visitors a day – 50% of Expò’s numbers – just at this event. In my view it’s organised in an extraordinary way..
Io non faccio mai complimenti lo sapete come sono, sono incazzato con tutti però qua ho ceduto;
You know me – I’m not overgenerous with praise – I’m angry with everyone – but – here I’ve given in!
ho ceduto su dei divani bellissimi di artigiani italiani che modellano ormai i divani sui culi dei cinesi, quindi ho dovuto prendere tre divani in uno per sedermici.
I’ve given in – on these great sofas – made by Italian artisans – and they are modelling their divans on the backsides of Chinese people – so I’ve had to put three sofas together so that I could sit down.
E’ una struttura secondo me che mette in rilievo chi siamo veramente.
In my view, this is an event that really highlights who we really are.

We are people that don’t do miracles by walking on water but we are artisans that should be protected, because artisans are the backbone of our country.
Sapete noi come siamo con i piccoli imprenditori, medi imprenditori e quindi noi dobbiamo essere grati, grati a questi bravi falegnami!
You know what we’re like with the small-scale entrepreneurs, with the medium-sized enterprises and so we have to be grateful, grateful to these great carpenters!
Dove sono i falegnami, gli idraulici?
Where are the carpenters, the plumbers?
Dove siete elettricisti?
Electricians, where are you?
Siete scomparsi dobbiamo ricomporre questo tessuto sociale dell’uomo che fa le cose con le mani:cose irripetibili.
You have disappeared. We need to reconstruct this network of people working with their hands: this cannot be repeated.
Torniamo a far convergere l’alta tecnologia con la nostra arte di fare le cose.
We must step back and make sure there is convergence of high tech with our art of creating things.
Siamo dentro una struttura che ormai non ci permette di fare cose perché o non ci sono i finanziamenti, o ci sono le tasse.
We are inside a structure that no longer allows us to do stuff, either because there’s not the financing, or because of taxes.
Ho visto un artigiano che lavorava di nascosto.
I’ve seen an artisan working away in secret.
Mi ha detto “non lo dica a nessuno che mi ha visto lavorare…”
He said “don’t tell anybody that you’ve seen me working …”
Bisogna ripensare un mondo in cui converga l’alta tecnologia con la nostra piccola media impresa: cosa che è nel nostro programma.
We have to rethink our world so that we have the convergence of high tech with our SMEs: that’s something in our manifesto.
Ma non sono venuto qua a parlare di politica sono venuto qua a camminare sulle acque.
But I haven’t come here to talk about politics. ’ve come here to walk on water.
Come farà un artigiano dovrà essere in grado di camminare sull’ acqua per sopravvivere se no va giu’ e quando andrà giù se ne troverà fino al collo, ma non di acqua…
Just think of an artisan that has to walk on water in order to survive – otherwise – he’ll sink – and when he goes down he’ll find he’s up to his neck – but not in water ….
State bene… Fate del bene a tutti…
