Imagine a web portal that could help you look for a job in 31 European countries, and that could give you all the information you need about making a move abroad – well you don’t have to imagine, as it already exists in the shape of EURES, short for EURopean Employment Services.

EURES is a network whose aim is to help job mobility – the opportunity to work in different countries – in what we call the ‘European Economic Area’; that’s all the European countries plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein (Switzerland is covered too).
EURES è una rete finalizzata a incentivare la mobilità lavorativa (ovvero la possibilità di lavorare in altri paesi) nel cosiddetto “Spazio economico europeo”, che comprende tutti gli Stati membri, la Norvegia, l’Islanda e il Liechtenstein, e in Svizzera.

As well as a massive job-search database, the EURES portal also provides advice and information about living and working conditions across Europe.

But EURES also has a human face, thanks to its network of 700 advisers, who are available to counsel job seekers and employers on the ins-and-outs of international recruitment.

EURES was established in 1993, and is supported by a host of partners – including public employment services, trades unions and employers’ organisations.
