BRUSSELS, 26 January 2012 – Today the European Commission has formally requested Italy to apply EU legislation concerning the marketing authorisation procedures of generic drugs.
BRUXELLES, 26 gennaio 2012 – In data odierna la Commissione europea ha chiesto formalmente all’Italia di applicare la legislazione UE relativa alle procedure di autorizzazione alla commercializzazione dei farmaci generici.

According to Directive 2001/83/EC on the Community code for medicinal products for human use, the processing of marketing authorisation procedures can be carried out without being affected by the protection of industrial and commercial property interests.
Conformemente alla direttiva 2001/83/CE recante un codice comunitario relativo ai medicinali per uso umano, l’espletamento delle procedure di autorizzazione alla commercializzazione può avvenire senza che su ciò incida la protezione degli interessi in tema di proprietà industriale e commerciale.

On the other hand, the authorisation holder of a generic drug is not allowed to place a product on the market before the patent on the reference product has expired.
D’altro canto, il detentore dell’autorizzazione di un medicinale generico non può immettere un prodotto sul mercato prima che sia scaduto il brevetto del prodotto di riferimento.

Italy has not respected the timeline for adopting the relevant EU amendments to its national law, and thus continues to fail to adequately protect manufactures.
L’Italia non ha rispettato la scadenza per l’adozione dei pertinenti emendamenti UE nel diritto nazionale e continua pertanto a venir meno all’obbligo di tutelare adeguatamente i fabbricanti.

Il sottosegretario alla presidenza del Consiglio per l’editoria, il professore Carlo Malinconico, è stato ospite in un albergo extra lusso.
The undersecretary for publishing in the office of the President of the Council, professor Carlo Malinconico was a guest in a super deluxe hotel.

Il conto di parecchie migliaia di euro lo ha pagato, all’insaputa dell’interessato, Francesco Piscicelli, l’imprenditore coinvolto nell’inchiesta sugli appalti post terremoto in Abruzzo e che rideva dopo la catastrofe.
Unknown to the person involved, the bill was paid by Francesco Piscicelli, the entrepreneur involved in the investigation into the contracts assigned after the earthquake in Abruzzo and who laughed after the catastrophe.

Malinconico, in precedenza presidente della Fieg e segretario generale della presidenza del Consiglio con Romano Prodi, ha detto di non aver “mai fatto favori ai personaggi coinvolti” e che è venuto a conoscenza “solo ora che Piscicelli avrebbe pagato di propria iniziativa e per ragioni a me del tutto ignote alcuni dei miei soggiorni presso la struttura alberghiera”.
Malinconico, formerly the president of the FIEG and general secretary of the office of the President of the Council with Romano Prodi, said that he has “never given favours to the people involved” and that he got to know “only now that Piscicelli had paid of his own initiative and for reasons unknown to me, some of my stays in the hotel complex”.

Il valore di ogni cosa presente sul pianeta Terra non supera il 10% del denaro, dei titoli mobiliari e dei valori immobiliari.

In altri termini il 90% della presunta ricchezza non esiste.
In other words, 90% of the presumed wealth does not exist.

La realtà è che le nostre case valgono un quarto, le azioni delle imprese quotate un decimo, i titoli pubblici possono non valere nulla e non essere più rimborsati.
The reality is that our houses are worth a quarter, the shares of the quoted companies are worth a tenth, the public stock can be worth nothing and be no longer reimbursed.

E’ un gigantesco falò quello che sta avvenendo dal’inizio del nuovo millennio.
What has been happening since the beginning of the new millennium is a gigantic bonfire.

I “diritti dei lavoratori” sono diventati una frase senza senso, una giaculatoria da recitare in televisione da parte di sindacalisti assimilati al sistema come barboncini da diporto.
The “rights of the workers” have become a phrase without meaning, a mantra to be recited on TV by the trade unionists assimilated into the system like French poodles to bob around with.

La pensione è un ricordo dell’età dell’oro, destinata solo ai più fortunati come Amato, ma anche a Veltroni, Scalfari e alle mogli di Boss(ol)i e Bevtinotti.
The pension is a memory from the golden age, destined only for the luckiest few, like Amato, but also Veltroni, Scalfari and the wives of Boss(ol)i and Bevtinotti.

La Nazione ha gioito come non succedeva dal 5 luglio del 1982 dopo la vittoria per 3 a 2 sul Brasile ai campionati del mondo di Spagna.
The country has rejoiced in a way that hadn’t happened since 5 July 1982 after the 3 to 2 victory over Brazil at the World Championships in Spain.

Sono passati alcuni giorni e dagli schermi televisivi sono riapparsi Brunetta, Letta, Bindi, Alfano, Fini ritornati dall’oltretomba.
A few days have gone by and on the TV screens there’s the reappearance of Brunetta, Letta, Bindi, Alfano, and Fini who’ve returned from beyond the grave.

Non può farlo per decreto e allora crea leggi su leggi per limitare, circoscrivere, oscurare.
They cannot do it by a decree and so they are creating laws upon laws to limit, to circumscribe, to black out.

L’annuncio di Wikipedia che chiude il suo sito alla consultazione è una reazione a un atto gravissimo che limita la libertà di opinione.
The announcement by Wikipedia that has closed its website for consultation in Italian is a reaction to a really serious action that limits the freedom of opinion.

La legge Alfano, noto da tempo per la super porcata del Lodo Alfano, è un atto di guerra contro l’informazione libera, peggio delle leggi fasciste, peggio di tutto.
The Alfano law, known for some time as the “la super porcata del Lodo Alfano” {bit of super filth of the Lodo Alfano}, is an act of war against the freedom of information, worse than the fascist laws, worse than everything.

Se chiudono la Rete nessun dialogo sarà più possibile e non ci sarà alcuna alternativa alla piazza.
If they close down the Internet, no dialogue will ever be possible again and there will be no alternative to the streets.

Eurobarometer: Vocational education and training – key findings
Eurobarometro: Istruzione e formazione professionale – risultati principali

The Special Eurobarometer survey on “Attitudes towards vocational education and training” was conducted through face-to-face interviews among 26 840 EU citizens in all 27 Member States between 4 and 19 June 2011.
L’indagine speciale Eurobarometro su “Atteggiamento rispetto all’istruzione e alla formazione professionale” è stata condotta tra 26.840 cittadini dell’UE, sotto forma di interviste personali, in tutti e 27 gli Stati membri tra il 4 e il 19 giugno 2011.

The key findings are:
I risultati principali sono i seguenti:

Positive image of vocational education and training linked to quality
L’immagine positiva dell’istruzione e della formazione professionale è legata alla qualità

Vocational education and training is generally well regarded.
In linea generale l’istruzione e la formazione professionale sono considerate positivamente.

71% of all respondents say it has a positive image in their country.
Il 71% di tutti gli intervistati ha dichiarato che godono di un’immagine positiva nel loro paese.

There is a direct link between the image of vocational education and training and perceived quality of training:
Vi è un legame diretto tra l’immagine dell’istruzione e della formazione professionale e la percezione della qualità della formazione:

75% thought that vocational education and training offered high quality learning.
il 75% degli intervistati ritiene che l’istruzione e la formazione professionale offrano un apprendimento di elevata qualità.

C’erano una volta i parlamenti, i governi federali e nazionali, i pubblici dibattiti sul futuro delle nazioni.
Once upon a time there were parliaments, federal and national governments, and public debates about the future of the nations.

C’era persino l’ONU che non funzionava un granché, ma era pur sempre uno straccio di organo rappresentativo.
There was even the UN that didn’t work very well, but it was still a bit of a representative body.

Tutto questo è memoria, cenere di democratica parvenza, polvere del passato.
All this is memory, ashes of democratic shadow, dust from the past.

Non conta più nulla.
It no longer counts for anything.

Altri organismi li hanno superati con sigle misteriose per la gente: WTO, BCE, FMI.
Other organisms have superseded them with acronyms that people find mysterious: WTO, ECB, IMF.

Il nostro destino è nelle loro mani, ma non sappiamo chi li dirige, chi ne decide gli obiettivi.
Our destiny is in their hands, but we don’t know who directs them, or who decides their objectives.

Nessuno ne ha eletto i rappresentanti, ma da loro dipendono le nostre vite.
No one has elected the representatives there, but our lives depend on them.

La BCE, una banca, può inviare, senza che nessuno più si scandalizzi, una lettera a un governo in carica dettandogli le condizioni e minacciandolo di licenziamento.
The ECB, a bank, can send a letter to a government in power giving the details of the conditions and threatening to sack them and no one is scandalised by that.
