Nessuna tutela reale, ma solo un ristoro economico, vero ricatto morale che fa leva sulla fragilità di chi oggi non si può permettere di perdere il lavoro, di chi è costretto ad adeguarsi, per sopravvivere, al detto “pochi, maledetti e subito”.
No actual protection but merely a financial remedy, real moral blackmail that plays upon the fragility of those who cannot afford to lose their jobs in these times, those who are forced to make do in order to survive, as per the old saying “better a bird in the hand than two in the bush”.

La corruzione a livello di amministrazioni locali è diventata endemica.
Corruption in public administration at a local level has become endemic.

Per diventare amministratore devi superare le prove di ladrocinio della cosa pubblica.
To work in public administration you’ve got to take a test in “petty-thieving-from-the-public-purse”.

Una ciliegia tira l’altra, come le bustarelle, e sta coinvolgendo un po’ alla volta tutti i comuni e le regioni.
One thing attracts another, just like little bribes, and bit by bit it gets to involve all the town councils and all the regional councils.
