La recente vicenda giudiziaria che coinvolge il commercialista Paolo Oliverio, il fiscalista dei potenti che pilotava i controlli di Equitalia, è l’ultimo, gravissimo, caso che apre uno squarcio sul verminaio di corruzione, rapporti illeciti e trame segrete che coinvolgono anche l’agenzia delle cartelle esattoriali.
The recent judicial happenings involving the accountant Paolo Oliverio, the tax consultant of the powerful who was giving directions about what checks were carried out by Equitalia, is the latest really serious case that is opening up a crack in the hell-hole of corruption, of illicit relationships and secret plots that even involved the tax collecting agency.

Insabbiare o pilotare le verifiche fiscali su imprenditori e grandi società effettuate dalla Fiamme Gialle e influire sull’attività degli ispettori di Equitalia dovrebbe far imbestialire i cittadini onesti che non dormono la notte (qualcuno arriva anche a gesti estremi) quando ricevono cartelle che non lasciano scampo.
To provide false evidence or to direct the investigations about the taxes paid by business people and large companies and carried out by the Fiamme Gialle finance police and influencing the activities of Equitalia’s tax inspectors should be considered outrageous by honest citizens who cannot sleep at night (and there are even those who find they are taking extreme measures) when they receive tax demands that leave them with no way out.

Deflation hits everyone, but particularly those with more assets because those assets go down in value.

Se questo è vero come è dimostrato storicamente, quali saranno i modelli di vita, di economia, di politica che la deflazione premierà?
If this is true, as history as shown, then which life, economic and political models will benefit the most from deflation?

Saranno quelli dei sogni, termine un po’ astratto, forse un po’ vago.
It will be those of our dreams, a rather abstract concept I agree, and perhaps a little vague too.

In realtà i sogni sono proprio quelli che motivano, quelli che ci tengono in cammino verso un nuovo modello di vita, di una felicità sostenibile, una felicità non basata su consumi, bisogni indotti, ma sui sogni personali, di comunità, sociali, politici, economici.
In reality, dreams are what motivate us and keep us moving towards a new model for life, sustainable happiness based not upon consumption and induced needs but based upon personal, community, social, political and financial dreams.

L’importante è averli e svilupparli.
The important thing is to have these dreams and to develop them.

“Premesso che provo grande empatia con le coppie che si trovano bloccate con le loro adozioni in Congo, vorrei precisare alcuni punti, sconosciuti ai più:
“I would like to start off by saying that I feel a lot of empathy with the couples who are finding their path blocked when they try to adopt children in the Congo. I would like to explain a few things that a lot of people don’t know:

1) Nelle culture africane è INCONCEPIBILE che un bambino venga affidato ad estranei, per la semplice ragione che il concetto di FAMIGLIA è allargato non solo ai parenti anche più lontani, ma anche al clan, alla tribù, e in ultima istanza alla nazione intera.
1) In African cultures it’s INCONCEIVABLE for a child to be entrusted to the care of an outsider, and this is for the very simple reason that the concept of FAMILY is spread out not just to relatives, even quite distant relatives, but also to the clan and to the tribe, and in the final instance to the whole nation.

In molte lingue africane non esiste neppure un termine corrispondente al nostro “orfano”.
In many African languages, there is not even a term corresponding to “orphan”.

Spesso la “zia” si chiama “piccola madre” e per dire “zio” si dice “piccolo padre”.
Often the “aunt” is called “little mother” and the “uncle” is called “little father”

Di regola, i piccoli dopo i due anni sono affidati alla nonna paterna quasi a tempo pieno.
Normally, once a child is over 24 months, they are entrusted to the care of the paternal grandmother.

In ogni caso, anche il parente più lontano ha una serie di diritti/doveri sul piccolo, tanto da rendere praticamente impossibile, per qualsiasi tribunale, dichiarare l’adottabilità di un minore senza suscitare forte malcontento nella popolazione.
Anyway, even the most distant relative has a series of duties and rights in relation to the child. This makes it practically impossible for any tribunal to be able to declare that a child can be adopted, as this would cause a lot of discord among the people.

La vicenda del Monte dei Paschi di Siena ha ormai i contorni tipici di un classico problema italiano:

si crea per incapacità manageriale e si amplifica per incapacità e voracità politica.
managerial incompetence that is amplified by political voraciousness and incompetence.

Il bubbone di Siena è esploso nei giorni scorsi.
The Siena blight has exploded in the last few days.

In assemblea la Fondazione del MPS col 30% rappresentava la maggioranza degli azionisti.
In the shareholders meeting, the MPS Foundation with a 30% share, represented the majority of shareholders.

Grazie a ciò ha rinviato a giugno l’aumento di capitale da tre miliardi di euro entro gennaio proposto dal management e garantito da un consorzio di banche.
Thanks to that situation, it has postponed until June, the January capital increase from three billion euro as proposed by the management with guarantees from a consortium of banks.

Il rinvio di sei mesi comporta una serie di conseguenze.
The six month postponement will have a series of consequences.

>>> E’ bene conoscerle per evitare il solito attendismo all’italiana foriero di disastri.
It’s a good idea to know what they are so as to avoid the usual Italian-style wait-and-see policy that is the harbinger of disasters.

Il rinvio dell’aumento significa il rinvio del rimborso dei tre miliardi e rotti di euro dei “Monti bond” concessi dallo Stato.
This postponement means a postponement of the reimbursement of the three billion euro of the “Monti bonds” from the State.

Lo spostamento di data a giugno rischia di far saltare l’aumento se le condizioni di mercato, dopo le elezioni europee, saranno meno favorevoli di quelle attuali.
By shifting the date to June, there’s the risk that the increase will not happen if, after the European elections, the market conditions are less favourable than current conditions.

Cosa probabile perché con il prossimo “stress test” che valuterà il rischio delle banche europee da parte della BCE, premessa per l’Unione Bancaria, molte banche faranno ricorso ad aumenti di capitale.
This is something that is quite probable because with the forthcoming “stress test“ that will allow the ECB to test the risk of banks in Europe as a precursor to having a Banking Union, it’s likely that many banks will increase their capital.

MPS si troverà così in un periodo di forte affollamento di aumenti di capitale.
Thus MPS will find it’s in a period when everyone is increasing their capital.

La futura difficoltà nel raccogliere capitali privati potrebbe spostare il problema sulle spalle dello Stato italiano aprendo la prospettiva di nazionalizzazione della banca.
At that time in the future, the difficulties of getting private capital could shift the problem onto the Italian State with the likelihood of the bank being nationalised.

Ipotesi che, in sé, è positiva.
That hypothesis in itself is a positive one.

Tale scenario però può non essere indolore.
However, that scenario could still be painful.

Nazionalizzare nel bel mezzo del processo dell’Unione Bancaria e della nuova disciplina di bail-in comporterebbe una probabile imposizione di perdite ad obbligazionisti e depositanti prima di un intervento dello Stato.
Nationalisation happening slap bang in the middle of the creation of the Banking Union and the new discipline surrounding a bail-in would mean it’s likely that bondholders and depositors would have losses before the intervention of the State.

Insomma, pagherebbe sempre Pantalone.
Basically, it would always be the fall-guy “Pantalone” who has to pay.

La Fondazione ha giustificato la sua scelta con il rischio che l’aumento venisse sottoscritto da investitori privati esteri, può essere… ma è probabile che adesso l’unica vera alternativa alla nazionalizzazione diventi la cessione di MPS ad una banca estera.
The Foundation has justified its choice by saying that there’s the risk that the increase would be financed by private foreign investors.That’s possible. But it’s likely that the only true alternative to nationalisation is to allow MPS to be taken over by a foreign bank.

Un rischio ancora più grande.
That’s an even greater risk.

La morale di questa vicenda è che MPS diventi un agnello sacrificale chiesto dalla Germania all’Italia per dare l’esempio ai mercati come preda a quattro soldi per una delle sue banche, o come caso “cipriota” di salvataggio con i soldi dei depositanti e degli obbligazionisti.
The moral to this story is that MPS will become a sacrificial lamb as requested of Italy by Germany to provide an example to the markets as a prey at knock-down prices for one of its own banks, or in line with the “Cypriot” way of saving the money of its depositors and bondholders.

A nulla è servita la lettera “segreta” di Draghi ad Almunia resa pubblica qualche settimana fa.
Draghi’s “secret“ letter to Almunia (made public a few weeks ago) has been of no use.

Draghi chiedeva di non applicare il prossimo bail-in delle banche in difficoltà sulle spalle di correntisti e obbligazionisti.
Draghi asked for the non-application of the forthcoming bail-in for the banks in difficulty at the expense of current-account holders and bondholders.

La Germania è, come sempre, andata dritta per la sua strada.
As always, Germany is going ahead in its own way.

MPS non può più aspettare.
MPS can no longer wait.

Va nazionalizzata senza perdere ulteriore tempo per garantire allo Stato il suo prestito e alla banca impieghi e depositi.
It has to be nationalised without losing any more time.This will guarantee the value of the State’s loan and the value of the bank’s investments and deposits.

Giugno potrebbe essere troppo tardi o trasformarsi in una beffa per i depositanti chiamati a salvare la banca distrutta dai partiti.
June could be too late or it could be a big joke for the depositors called to save the bank destroyed by the parties.

A proposito, a che punto è l’inchiesta su MPS, in giro non si sente più nulla…
By the way, what’s happening with the investigations into MPS, nothing has been heard …

Thamsanqa Jantjie – man of the year

Uno schizofrenico, con tendenze a scoppi di violenza, che vede gli angeli, che parla solo lo Xhosa, una delle 11 lingue ufficiali del Sudafrica, è l’uomo dell’anno.
A man who suffers from schizophrenia, who has violent tendencies, a person who sees angels, who only speaks Xhosa, one of the 11 official languages of South Africa, is the man of the year.

Si chiama Thamsanqa Jantjie ed è stato l’interprete ufficiale dall’inglese al lingua dei segni durante il solenne memorial nel grande stadio in onore di Nelson Mandela.
He’s called Thamsanqa Jantjie and he was the official English to sign language interpreter in the massive stadium during the solemn memorial in honour of Nelson Mandela.

Thamsanqa non conosce però l’inglese.
However, Thamsanqa doesn’t know English.

Il ministro sudafricano Hendrietta Borgopane-Zulu ha ammesso “la lingua inglese è un po’ troppo per lui”.
South African Minister Hendrietta Borgopane-Zulu admitted “the English language is a bit too much for him”.

Thamsanqa non conosce neppure il lingua dei segni.
Thamsanqa doesn’t even know sign language.

Lo stesso ministro ha ammesso che “non è un interprete professionale”.
The Minister herself admitted that “he’s not a professional interpreter”.

La povertà e la disoccupazione dilagano ovunque in Europa insieme a un’emigrazione incontrollata dall’Africa e dall’Est dell’area Schenghen, a cui non aderisce la Gran Bretagna che sta studiando nuove limitazioni agli ingressi e sospesa in Danimarca, ennesimo fallimento della UE.
Poverty and unemployment are spreading everywhere in Europe together with uncontrolled emigration from Africa and from East of the Schenghen area of which Great Britain is not a member (and it’s looking at new limits to immigration) and the agreement about Schenghen has been suspended in Denmark, an umpteenth example of the collapse of the EU.

C’è qualcosa di simbolico, di catartico, di segno di fine dei tempi nell’attacco al M5S da parte dei dinosauri del Potere.

The excavator called “Monnalisa” is the massive drill to be used to excavate the seven kilometre tunnel for the high speed train under the built up bit of Florence from Campo di Marte to Castello

“A Firenze è previsto che l’alta velocità passi attraverso un doppio tunnel di circa 7,5 km che sventrerà il sottosuolo fiorentino compromettendolo per sempre.
“In Florence the plan is to have the high speed train go though a double tunnel about 7.5 kilometres long and this will disembowel the subsoil of Florence putting it in jeopardy from then on.

Si tratta di un’opera folle da tutti i punti di vista.
It’s a mad project from every point of view.

Partiamo dai costi.
Let’s start by looking at the costs.

I comitati contrari al sottoattraversamento hanno sempre avanzato, grazie al contributo di Professori universitari e tecnici, una proposta alternativa che permetterebbe ai treni dell’Alta Velocità di avere una linea di attraversamento in superficie con minori costi (circa 300 milioni di euro contro un miliardo e 500 milioni, possibili tre miliardi, preventivati per il sottoattraversamento) ed in tempi inferiori (viene stimato un quinto del tempo necessario per il sottoattraversamento).
The campaign groups that are against the underground rail line have always been working with university professors and technical experts to put forward an alternative idea that would make it possible for the high speed trains to travel on the surface at lower cost (about 300 million euro as opposed to a billion and a half or even a possible three billion already outlined in the budget for the underground route) and in a shorter time frame (estimates suggest it would take a fifth of the time needed for the underground route).

Succede che in Italia 156 studenti diversamente abili delle scuole medie superiori non possano frequentare le lezioni dall’inizio dell’anno scolastico perché l’ente Provincia non espleta il servizio del trasporto e dell’assistenza specialistica per mancanza di fondi.
“What’s happening in Italy is that 156 disabled high school students have not been able to get to school since the beginning of this academic year because the province doesn’t have the funds to provide the transport facilities needed.

Questo scempio disumano avviene nella Provincia di Ragusa e le mamme protestano ad oltranza da circa una settimana incatenate e, due di loro, attuando lo sciopero della fame perché il Presidente Crocetta ha pensato male di staccare la spina.
This disastrous situation is happening in the Province of Ragusa and the mothers have been having an all-out protest for about a week. They have chained themselves together and two of them are on hunger strike.They feel that President Crocetta has acted incorrectly by failing to provide the transport facilities.

Il servizio, che ha un costo mensile di 265 mila euro, potrà essere assicurato solo per appena due settimane dopo che il commissario straordinario della Provincia, Giovanni Scarso, ha predisposto il bilancio di previsione apponendo 120 mila euro.

Finanziamento pubblico ai partiti: “stecca para pè tutti” #leggetruffa

“Questa legge è una presa in giro sfacciata e colossale.
“This law is a massive insolent mockery.

Passata sulla stampa di propaganda del governo come “Abolizione del finanziamento pubblico”, significa invece:
It’s being heralded by the government propaganda press as “Abolition of public financing”, but in fact, it really means:

“Continuerete a pagare, come prima e persino più di prima”.
“You will continue to pay as you did before – but even more”.

Cosa ancora più grave, questa legge consegna ufficialmente la politica nelle mani dei grandi potentati economici, delle lobby e persino delle associazioni criminali che sono sempre alla ricerca di nuovi e più redditizi canali di riciclaggio del denaro sporco.
What’s even more serious is that this law officially places the political system into the hands of the great big economic powers, the lobbies, and even criminal associations that are always on the lookout for new profitable channels to use for money laundering.

Ci sono partiti che possono iscriversi nell’apposito registro e accedere al finanziamento e partiti o “movimenti politici” che non possono (indovinate chi? Per fortuna, dei soldi ce ne infischiamo).
