Ieri il presidente dei partiti (in quanto eletto dai loro nominati) Giorgio Napolitano ha detto che il M5S ha un chiodo fisso e se ne frega dei problemi della gente e del Paese in merito alla sua proposta di indulto e amnistia per liberare le carceri.
Yesterday the President of the Parties (the one elected by their appointees), Giorgio Napolitano, said that the M5S has an obsession and doesn’t give a toss about the problems of the people and of the country in relation to his proposal about the pardon and amnesty to free up the prisons.

Il sospetto che questo appello avvenga per salvare Berlusconi e una miriade di colletti bianchi è lecito.
The suspicion that this is happening in order to save Berlusconi and loads of white collar workers is legitimate.

Le lacrime napulitane versate per coloro che sono detenuti sono sospette da parte di chi è parte fondante di questa classe politica dal 1953 ed è ora nel suo ottavo anno di presidenza.
The Neapolitan tears shed for those who are behind bars are suspicious when they are issuing from someone who was one of the founders of the 1953 political class and who is now in his eighth year as President.

Le carceri sono piene perché molte sono inutilizzate, perché leggi inutili e dannose come la Fini-Giovanardi sono in vigore, perché i cittadini extracomunitari e comunitari detenuti non vengono mandati nel loro Paese a scontare la pena.
The prisons are full because many are not used, because useless and harmful laws like the Fini-Giovanardi law are in operation, and because European and non-European prisoners are not being sent to their own countries to serve their sentences.

Versilia is in a state of shock after the publication of an investigation carried out by the Viareggio health authorities indicating the Falascaia incinerator (located between Pietrasanta and Camaiore), as the cause of thousands of deaths.

In questi decenni vari studi internazionali hanno dimostrato la correlazione positiva tra incenerimento dei rifiuti e aumento di patologie tumorali.
In the last few decades, various international research projects have shown that there’s a positive correlation between the incineration of waste products and an increase in cancer.

Tuttavia, l’indagine dell’Asl di Viareggio, è particolarmente significativa perché la Versilia, pur non essendo un’area industriale, ha il tasso di tumori più elevato della Toscana.

They have ignored the referendum on the abolition of public financing, they have appointed their representatives in Parliament with the “Porcellum” election law, thus removing the decision from the citizens, and that’s been happening since 2006, for two legislatures thus completely disregarding the current proclamations and presidential itches.

Per i partiti gli italiani non devono avere alcuna voce.
For the parties, the Italian people must not have any voice.

una giornata in cui la coppia Violante&Napolitano ha forse trovato il cavillo mancante per salvare un pregiudicato con il rinvio della legge Severino alla Corte Costituzionale.
a day when the pair Violante&Napolitano found the missing trick to save a convicted criminal with the return of the Severino law to the Constitutional Court.

Una legge che impedisce a chi ha condanne superiori a due anni di sedere in Parlamento.

E’ avvenuto nella politica, nell’informazione, nelle grandi industrie, nell’arte.

Era inevitabile che il meccanismo democratico si inceppasse in Italia sotto i lasciti del ventennio berlusconiano.
It was inevitable that the democratic mechanism would have a hitch in Italy in the wake of two decades of Berlusconi-ism.

La squallida vicenda sulla ineleggibilità di Berlusconi è solo l’esempio più recente dello stato confusionario della nostra democrazia.
The squalid affair of Berlusconi‘s ineligibility is just the most recent example of the confused state of our democracy.

Ma sono soprattutto le scelte di governo del presidente Napolitano che hanno manifestato un deficit di democrazia inaccettabile, spesso prendendo a pretesto i mercati finanziari per giustificare forzature anti democratiche.
But above all the choices made by President Napolitano in relation to governments are ones that have manifested an unacceptable democratic deficit often using the situation in the financial markets as a justification for anti-democratic distortions.

Sia che si voti, sia che non si vada a votare è infatti ormai il solo Presidente Napolitano a fare e disfare i governi in Italia mirando a placare i mercati finanziari a garanzia di tutti.
Whether there are elections or not, by now it’s just President Napolitano alone who is creating and dismissing the governments in Italy with the aim of placating the financial markets as a guarantee for everybody.

Il PIL dell’Italia ha registrato -0.2% nel secondo trimestre del 2013 contro -0.6% nel primo.
Italy’s GDP has fallen by -0.2% in the second quarter of 2013 as compared to -0.6% in the first quarter.

E’ bastato un rallentamento della decrescita per far suonare le fanfare della ripresa al governo Letta promettendo una uscita dalla crisi che è invece lontana.
It was enough to have a slowing down in the degrowth to hear the proclamation of a recovery coming from the Letta government with the promise of the end of the crisis that in fact is a long way off.

Fior di economisti, non da ultimi Fitoussi e Roubini, avvisano che la ripresa in Europa difficilmente ci sarà prima della fine del 2014 dal momento che la ricetta errata di “austerità e tasse” ha depresso salari reali e consumi in assenza dei quali parlare di ripresa è irrealistico.

On 20 April 2013: the PD parliamentarians didn’t vote for Prodi (founder of both the PD and the Olive Party and the only person to have twice beaten Berlusconi in the elections) and nor did they vote for Rodotà (a left wing constitutionalist and not a member of the 5 Star MoVement) to be President of the Republic.

Sono passati gli anni, i governi, da Prodi a Berlusconi a Monti a Letta, e nulla è stato fatto se non proclami e alte grida a uso dell’opinione pubblica.
Years have gone by, governments have gone by from Prodi to Berlusconi to Monti to Letta, and nothing has been done apart from a lot of shouting for the benefit of public opinion.

I partiti si sono tenuti ben stretto il Porcellum, gli ha consentito di nominare chi volevano.

Il Fisco è contro il risparmio, con il redditometro devi rendere conto anche delle spese non coperte dal reddito annuale.
The Tax Authorities are against savings. With the “redditometro” system for assessing income, you have to even account for the spending that is not covered by your annual income.

Ma non è il cittadino che deve dimostrare allo Stato come spende i suoi soldi, ma è lo Stato che deve spiegare,al centesimo, al cittadino come spende i soldi delle sue tasse.
But it’s not the job of the tax payer to show the State how he is spending his own money, rather, it’s the State that has to explain to the citizens how it is spending the money gathered in via taxes.

Il redditometro, una mostruosità, va abolito insieme ad Equitalia.
The “redditometro” system is a monstrosity and it needs to be abolished, together with the tax collecting agency, Equitalia.

Napolitano, step down

Napolitano ci ha provato.
Napolitano has tried.

Lui voleva, vuole, lo status quo, la stabilità politica.
He has always wanted the “status quo”, political stability.

Ha creduto che un governo delle larghe intese potesse impedire il crollo del Paese.
He believed that a government of broad agreements could prevent the collapse of the country.

Invece ha ottenuto l’effetto contrario.
Instead it has had the opposite effect.

E’ stato un doppio azzardo voler rimanere per un altro settennato e accettare un governo condizionato da Berlusconi imputato in più processi che, fosse solo per la statistica, poteva diventare un pregiudicato in breve tempo.
